Advice needed from bikers
ok...so next weekend i'm taking a motorcycle training course. I want a bike to drive to work and save some gas...also i've always wanted to have a bike. I don't want a crotch rocket, i want a cruiser. So originally DH and i were looking a honda rebel because they are light wt and cheep. I went to a bike shop today to see a rebel in person and also looked at the Honda shadow. I was suprised it wasn't nearly as heavy as i thought it was going to be. Now take it for granted...the bike wasn't laying on its side. So my question is this..i'm 5'3" weight 160ish...and i can lift a 70 lb dog easily. So do you think a shadow might be too big for me. My concern is if i drop it...will i be able to pick it up????? Also was looking for people to tell me about any experience they have with either bike. I know there are a lot more bikes out there...but so far price range, repairs etc..these two look like the best for our lifestyle, pocket book etc.
Thanks |
Have you looked into Harley-Davidson? At your height and weight, you should be able to handle a traditional Sportster, a Nightster easily. :)
In my opinion, Harley's have better resale value, and there are also a TON of perks for Harley owners... **I wanted to add that I don't have experience with the bikes you mentioned. It's just that if we are going for a cruiser...it's gonna be a Harley. :) DH has a Nightster currently...used to have a Sportster. My stepfather has a H-D Electra Glide.** |
i wish i could get a harley...but for the price they sell at i might as well get a used car. We're partially looking at a bike for gas cost.
