  • I'm sitting outside hosting a party with my husband's friends, getting them drinks and snacks and being completely hospitable. One of my husband's rather obnoxious friends begins telling a story about a couple he know. The main part of the story I found rude was "They are just like you guys, he is this little guy and she is this great big woman like twice his size". Everyone fell silent. I was like, hey! My husband said, "what was that?" and he just gave us a weird look and continued on with the story...it's like HOLY CRAP, 1st of all my husband and I are roughly the same size, 2nd of all that is just so mean and hurtful! ARGH! This guy is such a pain in my bum! Just needed to vent! Hope you are all well!
  • That's crazy!! You should have put his drink in his lap!!
  • What an ***hole.
  • I think it would have been time for him to go. Either that or his next drink would have a little something extra in it!!!
  • Oh my gosh! How rude! If I were you, I probably would have shot back with a story of a couple that I know with a husband who makes rude comments and ruins the good mood of a party. You shouldn't be feeling down on yourself at all--if no one ever taught that man manners, it certainly is not your fault.

Take care, and hopefully you won't let his rudeness bug you too much.
  • Class
I hope you showed that guy what a classy chick you really are and not stupe to
  • Oops!
I started to post and sent it before I finished. What I was saying was that we know what a classy chick you are and wouldn't say things like that. Take heart
  • What a turd.
  • What a jerk.
  • What a jerk! I hate people like that. I think I would have cried. Why are people so stupid.
  • i believe he is what is commonly referred to as a class-hole.

i once got - oh, wow, you used to be cute, what happened?
    gee thanks.

i think some people either want to make people feel bad about themselves - or they are just plain stupid and don't realize they are doing it. You can usually tell which one is which.
  • Not someone I would invite to my home again. It's bad enough when you get that sort of thing from strangers in the street, but a friend in your home? What a jerk!
  • Yep, that'd be the last time that jacka$$ came to my house!
  • *******! Keep your head up sister!
  • At least the rest of the party were sensitive enough not to laugh. It showed a lot of class to just go on with what you were doing and I'll bet he gets a lot of flack now at work
