I'm sitting outside hosting a party with my husband's friends, getting them drinks and snacks and being completely hospitable. One of my husband's rather obnoxious friends begins telling a story about a couple he know. The main part of the story I found rude was "They are just like you guys, he is this little guy and she is this great big woman like twice his size". Everyone fell silent. I was like, hey! My husband said, "what was that?" and he just gave us a weird look and continued on with the story...it's like HOLY CRAP, 1st of all my husband and I are roughly the same size, 2nd of all that is just so mean and hurtful! ARGH! This guy is such a pain in my bum! Just needed to vent! Hope you are all well!

That's crazy!! You should have put his drink in his lap!!

What an ***hole.

Oh my gosh! How rude! If I were you, I probably would have shot back with a story of a couple that I know with a husband who makes rude comments and ruins the good mood of a party. You shouldn't be feeling down on yourself at all--if no one ever taught that man manners, it certainly is not your fault.

i think some people either want to make people feel bad about themselves - or they are just plain stupid and don't realize they are doing it. You can usually tell which one is which.

Not someone I would invite to my home again. It's bad enough when you get that sort of thing from strangers in the street, but a friend in your home? What a jerk!

At least the rest of the party were sensitive enough not to laugh. It showed a lot of class to just go on with what you were doing and I'll bet he gets a lot of flack now at work

I hope your husband crosses this jerk off of his *friends* list....he is what someone said earlier, (cl*******), he'll probably wonder why he is never invited over again?

My boyfriend has a friend that would totally say something like that. As soon as I read that I pictured it coming out of his mouth. He says ignorant stuff like that all the time. Like, he knows exactly what to say to push my buttons. I've chalked it up to he is A.) jealous of my boyfriend because I'm awesome and he is dating a girl with absolutely no personality (and is heavier than me) and B.)knows he is a giant D bag who is also fat but does nothing about it.

Although in a perfect world my boyfriend would not keep as a friend, he does not permit him in our home and they now only see eachother a few times a month and they go without me, and my boyfriend puts him in his place anytime he says anything. About a year ago we were talking about animal rights and the D bag said "they are just animals. They don't have feelings" which we all knew he was just saying that to piss me off, so my boyfriend walked up to him and started to continuesly slap him in the face saying "it's just a Ryan. Ryans don't have feelings!!" It was beautiful. He was so embarrassed he just stood there and took it! hahahaha!

My boyfriend has a friend who spews nothing but sexist, racist things. The other day, I was at the "friend's" work with the boyfriend, although I was talking to the "friend's" boss. I mentioned that people were writing dirty things in the dust and that they should probably clean up. The "friend" says, "B****, I'm not asking YOU to clean up!" I said, "Wow, racist AND sexist at the same time. This must be a personal a**-hole record for yourself, huh?" (I'm Mexican-American, btw) To this he replies, "Oh no, I was just commenting on how f***** ugly you are."

THEN the boyfriend jumps in and says "Ok, no, that's crossing the f******* line. You need to back the **** off before I do something to you that will make me get kicked out of the store."

Honestly, the ugly comment didn't bother me so much because this guy's no great looker himself (I SAID IT). And I hear from other people that I'm attractive, so I definitely don't need this guy's validation.

Case in point: some people are just idiots that should have their vocal chords forcibly removed. :D

OMG I hate it when people assume that bc someone is overweight they can say *whatever* stupid comment they have in mind and no one should be offended.

My fiance's skinny-@ss cousin once said to him, after seeing that my fiance put on a few pounds: "Now that you are fat too, you and Karen really make a great match." i was *SOSOSOSOSOSO* angry about that; but he told me about it, i wasn't actually standing there when she said it, thank goodness.

and there is that very true comment you can savor....."i can lose weight, but you'll always be STUPID".......

Or, "I can lose weight, but you'll always be a #*$&@*(#$@ @#$*(@#&$*(@# @#$*#&#@^_#$@#." (Insert expletive(s) of your choice.) ;)

HAHAHA I love all the comments. Yeah, we rarely invite him over, but this will be the last time!
