MAN! That Guy's Face Was MESSED UP!

Angie and I saw Phantom Of The Opera today. Angie has seen it 5 times I think, she has the music to it too and listens from time to time. This was the first time for me.

It was your typical love triangle ;) I will put it #2 on my favorite play list....right behind Jersey Boys.

Do you agree?

What's your favorite play?

Clydegirl 07-20-2008 10:33 PM

I would have to say Jersey Boys and Les Miserables.

Loved both of them.

Both completely different, so many emotions.

"Jesus Christ Superstar" followed by "Lord of the Rings". Both were awesome :D

HarpoChicoGroucho 07-20-2008 11:29 PM

A Streetcar named Desire tied with Death of a Salesman. On the musical side, it's Oklahoma! (I would say My Fair Lady, The Sound of Music, Funny Girl, and Fiddler on the Roof but I've only seen the film versions).

I didn't know Lord of the Rings was ever staged. Interesting.

I'm sure Spamalot and Wicked are going to be on my favorite lists if I ever get to see them. :)

Chicago was phenomenal. I did see One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest put on by a company in Boise, and since my close friend was in it, I have to say that was one of the best. He played the guy who kills himself in the end.

This just reminds me how long it's been since I've been to a play. Whoa...

A few of my favs:

*Big River
*Chicago
*The Lion King

I'd love to see Jersey Boys, The Color Purple and Legally Blonde.

Oh honey....

I am dying to see phantom live. My hubby promised to take me when he comes home :):):)

I have seen Sweeney Todd (loved it) And Jekyll and Hyde (loved it more) Both were amazing and I would def. see them again. Both I have the cds for :):)

I have the cds for Miss Saigon and would loove to see that.

My son told me the other day he wants to take me to see Wicked. :) He's been saying that since it came out.

I love the Wizard of Oz so this would be right up my alley. :)

My son's drama group just did Miss Saigon. Tonight was their last night. We went opening night. It was very good. :) Of course I'd say my son was phenomenal. ;)

I saw Les Mis earlier in the year in a small theater 'in the round'.. it was very cool. Most of scenes are basic dark-cold scenes and they were made even more interesting in those dimensions... I love anything 'in the round'... I'm old fashioned I guess.
{Caroline is still singing phantom songs, and will be all night, alternates with MAMA MIA}

He's 20. He'll be 21 in April.

The language and a few scenes were rather intense. I was surprised to see how many people had their children at the show. I bet they had a lot of explaining to do on the ride home.

I saw Phantom 3 times when it was in Toronto, and it was amazing every time!

But my new favorite has to be Wicked.. it was just the traveling cast that came to my city, not Broadway or anything, but they were INCREDIBLE. All of it -- the music, effects, acting, even the sound quality. Superb.

Speaking of children at shows -- I've been to see Rent every time it's come here in the past few years (3 times I think?) and am always amazed at the number of kids. I felt uncomfortable enough watching it with my dad at moments ("Contact," anyone?), let alone with children nearby. Yikes.
