Uh.... that's not an attractive painting to me. The pose just doesn't even look comfortable. I can't image why it sold for so much.

I think that it is a beautiful painting (and obviously the buyer(s) agree!). The actual subject isn't appealing to me, but the artwork is quite nice.

But is it worth $33 mil? I don't believe so.

Artwork isn't really meant to be beautiful or ugly... it's meant to evoke reaction! (Artists are attention uh... hams ;)) Which this piece quite obviously has! I don't know if I personally feel it's 33 mil worth of reaction, but someone does think that.

I thought the colors were gorgeous, I was impressed with the blues in the skin tone, and the subject matter is interesting and (apparently) controversial.

I've actually always had an interest in posing. I wonder what it would be like... I don't know if I have the guts to do it ever...
