People can be so annoying!
 

This is just a rant about irritating people.

Today I went shopping and at one store I was standing in one of the make-up aisles looking at various things I might like to get. I was lingering near one shelf in particular, looking at all the different shades of foundation and trying to pick one that would be right for me, when up walks this woman with her two small children in tow.

Well, this woman procedes to crowd me, as in standing right next to me, reaching across me, and so on, as we look at basically the same products. She doesn't even say "excuse me" or anything to me as she pretends I'm not even there! :rolleyes: Anyway, I figure I was there first and I'm not leaving until I am done.

I bent down to look at things on a lower shelf, and one of her kids sneezes all over me! I mean, I even felt the mist hit my face and arm! ICK! And again, the mom says absolutely nothing even though she's standing right next to me. Now, I can understand a two-year old not having the manners to say "excuse me" (or cover his mouth), but what about the mother?? RUDE!

So, she won. I gave up fighting the forces of evil in the make-up aisle and I left. I figured it would save me a great deal of frustration to just come back when she was gone.

When I did come back a few minutes later, I saw that she (or one of her kids) had knocked some items to the ground and left them there. AND she'd tried some of the make-up testers, then thrown the tissue paper that she'd used to wipe it off her face onto the ground in the middle of the aisle (and there was a trash bin right under the tester-station!).

Seriously, what is wrong with some people??? :mad:

So, anyone else have irritating people they'd like to rant about?

o0o those kinds of people are so irritating! I definitely would have made a comment about her sneezy child, though.

I have to wait tables almost on a daily basis, and you would NOT believe how many rude and inconsiderate people there are out there...

I can not abide the rudeness that is becoming more and more 'the norm' these days. What is wrong with people? I've made darn sure that my kids say thank you, are polite to others, say who they are when calling a friend, etc. All the normal politeness that anyone would expect. Common courtesty.

I have been silent in the past about these ignorant, rude PITAs. No more!! I speak up and let them know it. My theory is that if they are rude enough to be doing whatever it is, then I am well within my rights to let them know that it is NOT ok to act this way, to treat other people this way, and to treat things this way.

I was in line at a 'quickie' Pizza Hut (store is small and you can either call ahead or go in and order but it's like a small bakery store or something, not a 'restuarant w/tables' or anything.) Anyway, I had called ahead and went in. There were two people in line ahead of me, so I stood behind them. This guy comes in and just walks straight up to the counter saying he called ahead, here's his order number. The look on my face must have been a priceless look of shock because the woman next to me rolled her eyes and starting laughing a bit, then shaking her head like 'hey, what can you do?' (we were both short and this guy was crane your neck tall.) And I thought 'no way buster, not gonna happen.' So I went over to him and said (not mean but very firm and yes, somewhat annoyed) that there is a line and we were all here first. I figured he would probably call me something nasty and tell me to bugger off, but instead he apologized and said he hadn't realized that he had butt in front of everyone (how he didn't realize this I don't know. :shrug:)

Anyway, I speak up nowadays. I blast the living daylights with my car horn to the morons who are so busy chatting on their cell phones that they fail to drive their cars (don't even get me started on this one! :)) I also go after the folks who think it is perfectly ok to let their dog poop all over my yard and not clean it up.

I don't know why people are so rude now. Sometimes I wonder if the whole 'cell phone/texting' mindset have people so engrossed that they simply don't pay attention. That's bad enough but when they deliberatly act this way like the woman you encountered, oooo just makes me wanna smack 'em upside their heads!! :rolleyes:

Ughh I'm sorry that happened. I would have said something though very politely like "uhmm excuse me I need a tissue. Your child just sneezed all over me." What I find amazing these days is the general lack of attentiveness by parents while out in public with their kids and then they only pay attention to them when something big happens like they somehow manage to knock over a whole display thingie at the grocery store or something like that. About a month ago I got hit twice in the backside by a cart by the same kids running around with it at Walmart, no parents in sight. The second time I turned around and gave them a really nasty look lol and they stopped. They obviously knew better.

HatTrick- I hate it when people do that cut in line and then when you say something they're like "Oh there's a line??" I really think some people do that on purpose claiming to be clueless so that you won't chew them out or say something according to their manners.

People just let their kids run wild these days with no punishment or repercussion. It drives me insane. Just the other day I was waiting for the elevator (I live on the 6th floor) and when the elevator opens, a mother and her two kids get out and they're kind of snickering. When I go into the elevator, the &^$%# kid had pressed EVERY BUTTON ON EVERY FLOOR. I was so ticked off. The mother didn't apologize or anything, she completely condoned that behavior.

WHERE are the PARENTS?!?!?

My husband blames reality TV....he says it has desensitized America. Everyone is out for themselves and no one is accountable for their actions...

Y'all will love this..., but let me preface this by saying this is NOT something I normally do!
A few months ago, I was in Walmart about 10pm, looking at clothes. These 4 or 5 teenage girls were running around the women's department, texting each other on their phones (they were 5 feet from each other!!!), hiding in clothing racks and yelling curse words. You could see the walmart employees just fuming, sice they aren't allowed to do anything.
I was looking at a rack of clothes, and these 2 girls run and hide in it to text each other. I was pretty ticked off at this point, so I leaned over and looked at them crouching like idiots. Then I said, "Get out. Quit acting like a$$&*^#s!"
This little Britney Spears look-alike looks all offended and says, "I don't appreciate you calling me names," to which I replied,"I don't appreciate bad-mannered little jerks running around me when I'm actually shopping."
She told me she was going to get her mom, and I told her to go right ahead, and I would tell her mom what a little $hit she and her friends were being.
They left!!!!! No mom came and yelled at me or anything!!!
The Walmart employees, who heard everything, came over and thanked and shook my hand. They were thrilled I stood up to them, and said they came all the time and messed up displays.
How sad is that? Where were the parents????
