OT: Pierce Brosnan married to curvy woman..how refreshing
 

I was just flipping through This weeks issue of US weekly and it had a thing on celebrity spouses. It turns out Pierce Brosnan's (sexiest man alive 2001) wife is currently about 50 lbs overweight. this picture was shown on page 98 and had the quote "I love my wife's curves" by Brosnan

You always see older male celebrities dating girls that are rail thin and in their 20s...I found it refreshing that Brosnan is happy to be married to a woman that is over 40 (she's 44) and has a little junk in the trunk. To be honest when I saw this, I thought more of him. She had 2 of his kids and has the right to not be a size 2 a month later.

but in most of the pictures of them together on the red carped she looks healthy...not rail thin but not overweight either..for example this one

To think that while he was hooking up with model types in the bond movies, he had a "real" woman back at home.

She's being brutally attacked on celebrity blogs for gaining weight. I even saw something negative about it on tv. It's sad. I'm glad to hear Pierce is publicily standing by his wife.

I love her, if only for the fact that she wore a bikini, with a big smile on her face, in Hawaii...knowing full well people were taking photos. The comments people made on those photos were just terrible.

She's a beautiful woman...good for them.:D

Didn't he leave Hollywood in the peak of his career to care for his first wife when she was dying of cancer? He seems like one of the truly "sweet" celebrities.

This just makes him even more sexy in my mind! It's nice to see there are still some "real" people in Hollywood.

This makes me even more excited to see 'Mamma Mia!' this summer.

No offense, but I think she looks bad. Yeah, I give him kuddos for standing by his wife through thick & thin, no pun intended. But what happened that she let herself go? JMHO Maybe it's just that I remember her smaller and thought she looked GREAT then. :shrug:

Keely Shaye Smith-Brosnan is a journalist, but she was an actress and television host. Is she still on television anymore?

I was just waiting for Pierce to get over his first wife before I swept in and married him. Keely didn't wait! I'd sure stay in shape for Pierce! :carrot:

She is a beautiful woman even with the extra pounds! And, we don't know that she "just let herself go." We don't know her situation.

I'm not surprised that he chose her at all. She has had two children; and many women gain some weight having kids. I think that she is very beautiful, just as she is ...

Yes, he's been very supportive of her which is great, but I still wonder a bit whether he ever would have dated her to begin with had she been as heavy then as she is now. Would he ever have even gotten to know what a great person she seems to be if she hadn't been the really hot chick back then?

He does seem like a good guy but I still wonder.

I think she's beautiful. And I doubt she 'just let herself go'. Besides the fact that she is a working mom of two, you don't know what else is going on in her life. Pierce has won even more brownie points from me.

I doubt as well that she has just let herself go. I have had three kids, and no matter how much I exercise and watch my diet, my body is never going to be exactly as it was before my children. It just isn't-and I have accepted that.

It seems that she still takes the time to dress nicely, keep her hair done, etc. so I wouldn't classify that as letting herself go. Now, if she got fat, wore nothing but sweats, showed up on the red carpet with 5 month old roots showing in her hair...THEN I would say that she let herself go.

The moms in Hollywood who go from "just had a baby" back to a size 0 or 2 in 4-6 weeks are doing it in a pretty unhealthy manner, IMO. Instead of holding and feeding their infants, they are with a personal trainer 6 hours a day instead.

I think Keely is beautiful despite the weight. Should she lose weight? Sure, because she'd probably be healthier. But she doesn't need to be rail thin. It's nice to see Pierce with her proudly at her side.

I think that women need to stop being so harsh to one another. How can we expect to be respected and valued for being more than a sexual object/trophy if we can't be kind to one another and see beyond that ourselves?

She is a beautiful woman, a smart woman, a talented woman, just as she is.
