Do you have just a few pounds to lose or are you almost at goal from a larger weight loss? I have a loooong way to go. 5. Have you purchased a book or magazine because a 3FCer recommended it? Tell us more. Yep. You On A Diet. (Thank You, Mrs. Quadcrew!) 6. One health gadget you have or one you'd like to have. I don't know if this makes me confident or just crazy! I also spent 6 years in the Air Force. This explains why I often channel my inner drill sergeant when necessary. |

Jamie 2. Give us one tip about healthier eating. Do not drink your calories--soda, juice, and alcohol can add up to many pounds and they don't even fill you up like food! 3. Give us one tip about increasing activity. Take the stairs!!!! It's faster than the elevator anyway! 4. Do you have just a few pounds to lose or are you almost at goal from a larger weight loss? 1. Care to tell us your real first name? Jaime 2. Give us one tip about healthier eating. Just because something is low-cal or low-fat doesn't make it good for you. Sacrifice low calorie density (and low nutrition) for high nutrition density (and higher cals) sometimes, your body will thank you. 3. Give us one tip about increasing activity. Put on an upbeat song... A song that always gets you moving. Even when you don't feel like working out just see if that doesn't make you want to get up and move! 4. Do you have just a few pounds to lose or are you almost at goal from a larger weight loss? I've been at this for two and a half months this time, but I still feel like I'm at the beginning. I've lost 5% of my body weight (a glorified way of saying 10-ish pounds). I have about 60lbs to go. 5. Have you purchased a book or magazine because a 3FCer recommended it? Tell us more. No, no books or magazines. I have, however, tried MANY foods because I've heard of them on 3FC, and I've discovered numerous websites and recipes here. It's been a wealth of information. (I think I don't pick up 3FC reading recommendations because I'm still in school and have less time for extra reading! One day I will pick up Thin for Life, I promise!) 6. One health gadget you have or one you'd like to have. I love my Omron pedometer (which I won from 3FC, actually, back when I was doing this a couple years ago). Recently replaced its battery and fell in love with it again. As for something I want, I'd love to be able to spend the money on super-high quality running shoes, or have the space and money to get a treadmill of my own. 7. Do you lurk in the Maintainers' forum? Yes! Talk about wisdom, ladies! 8. How many times per week do you read in the Goal! threads? Hm, maybe only once a month do I go up there. Mainly when I'm feeling stuck. When I need perspective. 9. Are you guilty of not recognizing your own accomplishments? Sometimes, but not regularly. Usually I'm good about patting myself on the back. 10. Something about you that not many people know. I'm really, really terrified of my in-laws! I mean... not physically or anything. They are super nice, absolutely wonderful people, incredibly upbeat and supportive and loving. And it freaks the crap out of me. It's just a family dynamic that is so different than the one I grew up with that it terrifies me to spend time with them because I don't know how to act around such loving people! Isn't that messed up? |
