I-Tunes question??

I got a new comp recently, is there a EASY way to transfer my music from itunes on my old comp to my new comp? TIA

Depending on the computer you can plug the computer into the other and then transfer them over. You need the correct cable for this though.

Do you have am external HD? Or a flash stick or something? You could put them on there. Another way is to burn them to dvd (data dvd) and then import that, takes kinda long - but not that bad.

Guess it depends how much music you have.

You could also set up a network and transfer them over the network.

There are really lots of options :)

You can also use your Ipod as an external hard drive and transfer the music directly from that. There are instructions on Apple's website.

This would be the most straight-forward method. When I set up iTunes on my new laptop, I just downloaded iTunes and then transferred everything from my iPod.

Of course, I didn't do this correctly the first time and ended up clearing my entire iPod. :dizzy:

I don't have an external HD or flash stick. I have a little over 4,000 songs.

thanks for the info. I have an ipod nano, it only hold 2000 songs, will I be able to transfer the music a couple times to get all 4000 songs?

You could do that, you would probably need to re-set up your ipod after though.

You could just turn sharing on both computers and copy them over the network, might take a couple hours but you could just copy them over and leave it over night and it would be done before you got up.

I am thinking of going this route, so even if something should happen to my new comp I have a backup. I'm planning on going to best buy this afternoon to pick one up. Is one better than another? Is it pretty self explanitory on how to move them to a external hard drive or flash drive?

I know, but I have over 5000 songs. Seems like that would be a very long process?
