In a perfect world, I'd be a full-time entrepreneur in the fitness industry (working on an eBook, am now a certified nutritional consultant, and taking classes to become a personal trainer) and I would have my web design business on the side. On the days when I am inspired, I work towards making these dreams a reality. |
Wow, you guys, can I just say how impressed I am at all your awesome jobs? What well-educated, empowered, selfless, hard working people we have in here!!!:cp:
I work in a hat shop in a major mall in my city. It sounds like a quirky job, but it's like any other retail position. However, I am very excited as I'm currently setting up a duo to perform live in my city!! My job is in a hat shop, but what I do is sing (even in the hat shop, actually :)) I've bought my microphones, and am preparing to put an ad in the paper to find my other half, and then the sky's the limit. I've been trying for a record deal for a very long time, and realised that no matter what happens with that, the least I can do for myself is become a professional singer right away! |
My main job right now is to keep the house clean and dinner ready for my hubby. We're also trying to find me a decently non stressful job (if there ever was one), cause my second job right now is trying to stay calm and relaxed so I can get preggo. That's one of the main reasons I'm even here trying to lose weight.

I'm working on my Doctor of Pharmacy and working as a research assistant for a physical/computational chemistry professor (he supervised my masters).
Chained to the textbooks to become an overeducated drug dealer. |
I'm a speech language pathologist (speech therapist) currently working in a nursing home setting. Before this job I worked with any age range from birth on....a very VERY rewarding job that I LOVE...only wish I didn't have to deal with the paperwork and MEDICARE....YUCK!

You know the more I thought about this, the more I wondered what my job really is. I immediately jumped in with...here's what I do. But I left out so much more.
What I do first and foremost is...I'm a mom. For the first 2 years, I was a stay-at-home mom. And hubby would have preferred it remain so. Butttttt ;) Since I was offered my old job back, I figured it's a career opportunity. Eventually, I'd have gone back to work, but with a long absent stretch of staying home, it would've been impossible to get anything remotely well paying. So I jumped at the chance to do this on this part-time basis to keep me in the working field AND still give me some time at home with my son. And when I'm home? I'm doing part-time work for my husband's company in developing them an Access database, during nap and self-play times. LOL Working part-time sure does feel like working overtime. ;) |
I work at a local college in the testing services office. I proctor about 16,000 exams a year which consist of
- Accomodated exam (for both physical, mental and learning disablities) - Entrance exams - Challenge exams (oh god what a nightmare right now... policies have changed and the coordinators are NOT entering grades... I won't go there though I could post a whole page full LOL) - Distance educations exams - exams from companies and institues world wide. I am the sole supervisor except for when I need a break or am sick. It's quite stressful, but I love everyone. |
