I sometimes shut my alarm off while still in sleep-state. My eyes will be open and everything. I might even say something to DH when I sit up and shut the alarm off. Of course, this is what I'm told since I never remember doing such a thing. Obviously I do though because the alarm is on my side and I certainly wake up late! It hasn't happened in a long time, but it used to be pretty frequent. At one point, for about 6 months, I put the alarm across the room so I was forced to get up out of bed and walk over to it. Usually by the time I got there I'd wake up.

I also used to be a sleepwalker. For some reason I liked to turn on all the lights in my room (when I lived with my parents) or the house (when I started living on my own) when I sleepwalked. I'd wake up a while later thinking "Did I fall asleep with ALL the lights on?!?!" :)

I love Clocky! I saw it on engadget a month or so again, they had some other really fun alarm clocks. One that I thought was seriously funny was a puzzle. When the alarm went off, the puzzle fell apart and the alarm wouldn't go off until the puzzle pieces were fit back together. BRILLIANT stuff!

What a cute little gadget!

I'd get one for my husband except for one little problem. With the alarm clock 2" from his ear, I've STILL had occasion to have to shut it off and start shaking him awake. That little gizmo would only frustrate me, and run farther from his deafness, so he'd keep sleeping on through it. ::sigh::

My daughter wouldn't even flinch. I bought her an alarm clock hoping she would learn to get herself out of bed in the morning. Ohhh she sets the thing for 6:30am and I'm the one that barges in her room at 7:00 to turn it off. It sits inches from her head and she doesn't budge. How is that even possible???

If you figure out the answer, let me know. Sometimes our 2 yo crawls up in our bed and roots us out. So daddy will take his clock and move to the couch so he can get some sleep. I will lay in bed and listen to that danged alarm for 10 minutes, then get up and....get this....GO DOWNSTAIRS! and turn it off and start shaking him. Sometimes he opens his eyes as I'm coming down the stairs, like he's awake, he KNOWS it's blaring, but he figures he can just ignore it...til he hears me coming and figures "uh oh". Grrrrrrrr

Hey Suzanne, I ran across this clock this morning. Thought it might be good for your son. :D http://www.whatonearthcatalog.com/wh...22_ps_srm.html

Sheesh! That's even worse. That propeller could land anywhere. And yet, it's the CLOCK beeping, and you can't shut the clock off till you locate the hiding and silent propeller. I'd take a hammer to the clock first. LOL
