Just finished a Scrumble River mystery...Murder of a Pink Elephant. I'm listening to Kabul Beauty School while I exercise, a very interesting read although there is some controversy related to the author and her true role in establishing the beauty school.

I own Lightning but haven't read it yet. I've read Watchers, once in high school and once for pleasure and loved it! I haven't heard much about Strangers though!

I got about half way through that book, but I kept losing interest. even when I got to the supposed "climax", I was like "ehh?". I need serious action to keep my interested! I'm not a reader at heart.....more so forced into it :) Koontz is one of my favorites though :)

Hey, all you Dean Koontz lovers ... I tried reading a couple of his books years ago, and they freaked me out a little :o ... so I gave them away, and haven't picked one up since. That guy can seriously spook you!

I just started Come Be My Light by Mother Teresa. Quite interesting so far. Just finished Undead and Unreturnable ( Queen Betsy book)- Funny vampire series. Next up: Vanishing Point (Sharon Mccone mystery) - Marcia Mueller and The Rising: The AntiChrist is Born - The Left Behind pre-equal.

I use to be a big fan of the Anita Blake series, but I stopped buying them too. Did you find it odd how she was so pristine and virginal for the first few books, and now it seems she sleeps with at least 5 men each new book? The stories are all the same now imho.

Me too, I definitely loved Guilty Pleasures - few too many descriptions of Anita lacing up Nikes, but I thought it was a great read. The books are hilariously bad now, 200 pages of BAD soft core furry porn, 10 pages of plot. The kicker for me - her jacket photo matches her descriptions of Anita, it's like we're reading her fantasies - every man in the world (or vampire or werewolf or undead or wombat or whatever) MUST have sex with her, just can't help himself. I read those scenes, look at the jacket photo and think she needs a therapist.

I'm rereading through Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

Oooh love Dean Koontz.... I haven't read him in years - I bet he has written more since :)

Speaking of Italian mysteries, I am also reading I, Mona Lisa by Jeanne Kalogridis. It's told from the perspective of Mona Lisa in 15th Century Florence. It's a little more historical fiction than mystery, but it does have good twists. I also like Philippa Gregory.

Reading buncha books by Charles de Lint. Most Currently: Spirits in the Wires. (If anyone's interested, I suggest starting with Dreams Underfoot. A solid collection of short stories.) Constantly picking up Mercedes Lackey (the newer Elemental Masters) and anything in the Sci-fi/Fantasy area that seems cool... And as always re-reading Stephen King's The Dark Tower Series. The-best-seven-books-he-has-EVER-written.

Oh yeah....I sleep with the lights on after reading one of his books! Darkfall had a lasting effect on me when I read it when I was younger so I don't know why I picked up again, but I did, and it was better than I had remembered! Also, Servants of the Twilight was amazing! I started reading it because it was the only thing around, not thinking I would like it, but I was addicted!!

I'm reading "And Eternity" by Piers Anthony. The 7th in a 7 book series. Actually there are going to be 8 when the 8th one comes out in December, but the original series is approx. 20 years old. If you like fantasy and haven't read it, it is an amazing series!

Some mangey polecat put a hold on the Outlander cd so I had to return it yesterday. I've put a hold on it so in 3 weeks I'll be able to get it back and finish it. I've read the book but wanted to start the series over. I love having someone read me a story as I commute to work.

Since I had to return it, I checked out Fleeced (on cd) by Carol Higgins Clark.

Wonder which ones of us that would be. :o
