I give away my age by saying Van Halen was playing at the old Pasadena shack "The Ice House" when I was in High School and as much as I despise the ordeal of arena shows I really want to see the homeboys who made good at Staples in November. Anybody else hitting this tour?

btw, public dieter Val B. must be on cloud nine with the reviews of new bassist Wolfgang Van Halen...who according the Rolling Stone review had the crowd "in the palm of his hand!"

Hubby's got a Van Halen shirt so old. He wore it to the VH concert we attended in Mass back in 2004. Saw Wolfgang play with his dad then. People were awestruck by hubby's shirt. Half of them had never seen one like it before. LOL I THINK it was from the 70's, but hubby's asleep and I don't remember what the shirt has on it.

Arrrgh don't even remind me of all the cool R&R T-shirts from the 70's I left for dead at my mom's house....and how much they're going on ebay now!! OUCH!

I saw Van Halen in concert one year, but that was during the Sammy Hagar years.... still a good concert, but not like the original VH w/gigantic ego Dave.

Gosh it's been so freakin' long since a good band has come out to Hawaii. It's too far out in the boonies I guess and just costs too much to ship stage equipment. Aerosmith just bailed on doing a Maui show and only did a private show for a Toyota Corporate meeting in Honolulu... I can't even remember the last concert of 'real' music I've been to, I am seriously jonesing.

LOL I had to ask hubby later about the shirt and he reminded me he'd taken a pic the night of the concert and already had loaded it on his website so he could gloat to all his friends.
