Using public internet on a college campus is DISEASE for computers. I had my first laptop for 2 years before it was completely ruined from viruses, spyware, etc. I do NOT want that to happen again. What are the best free spyware, virus, etc blockers to download?

I have Norton 2006 plus Adaware (free version), Spybot and Windows Beta for spyware.
