I looked at his new book yesterday. It's "A Thousand Splendid Suns" about a friendship between 2 Afghan women.

I will get it from the library. It's cheaper that way :)

  • The Ha-Ha by Dave King. I couldn't put it down; the characters are very engaging.
  • Encyclopedia of an Ordinary Life by Amy Krouse Rosenthal. Laugh-out-loud funny and a very quick read, perfect for summer.
  • Road Fever by Tim Cahill. One of my all-time, top three favorite authors. This book is also laugh-out-loud funny and includes interesting insights into the travel writing industry as well as fascinating descriptions of border crossings in South and Latin America. All of Cahill's other books are awesome too.
  • Animal Dreams by Barbara Kingsolver. Another one of my all-time, top three favorite books (the third is Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen). Kingsolver's other books are good too, but this is my favorite.
  • Touching the Void by Joe Simpson. An incredible survival tale.
  • Anything by Robert Crais, Michael Connelly, Steve Hamilton, Sue Grafton, Sara Paretsky, Charlie Huston, and Harlan Coben and the "Doc Adams" series by Rick Boyer. Can you tell I'm a big mystery fan?
  • The entire Nero Wolfe series by Rex Stout (again with the mysteries).

And, of course, don't forget that the final Harry Potter book comes out on July 21. Plenty of time to read the first six books in the series before then.

Someone loaned me "The Memory Keeper's Daughter" (I think that's the title) She loved it and I'd heard good reviews, but I'm getting through some library book first-can't remember its title....

But....someone at work here told me Jackie Collins has a NEW book out. I collect her titles, she was an early favorite of mine. So I am OFF to the bookstore TODAY!

Well I finished "Good In Bed" last night and loved it. What a great character Cannie was.
