okay chickis

i found out after doing my tests im gonna have some spare time on my hands (no revision and all that jazz) so i thought id try and take up one of the instruments i have lying around my room, so guitar or sax which one should i attempt to play again??

I said guitar because its more in demand AND, if you ever live in an apt., you won't have neighbors pounding on your walls.

I agree...and it's much more diverse. You could play classical, folk or get an electric guitar and plug it in an amp and be a rocker! Or you could get a part time job in a coffee shop adn pretend to be Pheobe on Friends! With a sax, you're pretty much stuck with jazz...and annoyed neighbors. ;)

My husband and oldest son play guitar AND sax! I like both but prefer guitar SOUND to sax SOUND. I especially enjoy acoustic.

Well if that's the case, she doesn't even need to learn how to play. :D

If I lived next door I would say guitar, but why not both? But be real, real nice to your neighbours and don't play the sax late at night! :^:

(I have kids who get rowdy sometimes, I always apologize to my elderly neighbours for the noise but they like kids and say they don't mind. But I still apologize anyways... :o )

I picked guitar. My DD has both a guitar and a bass guitar and rarely plays either one. She does play piano in her room (on a small keyboard) and plays both bass clarinet and percussion (snare drum, marimba, vibraphone, tympani) at school. Needless to say, she wants to major in music! I was even thinking of getting her some piano lessons this summer if she wants them. She's only had professional percussion lessons in the past.

Another for the guitar. I just like it the best of the two. DH#1 played and the kids would gather round and pretend they played as well, too much fun. I love the guitar though.

I'm the oddball that said the sax--I was thinking of one of the huskier sounding saxaphones, though, maybe an alto sax?

The sound is so sexy!

Since my favorite music is jazz I vote for sax. Although my favortie jazz artist Acoutsic Alchemy plays the baddest guitars, I still vote for the sax. There is something sensual and sexy about it. Good luck!

A word from my hubby. If you REALLY wanna tick off your neighbors, take up what he did...drums. :joker:

mascara 05-06-2007 02:37 PM

i decided on taking the guitar "seriously" ie. taking professional lessons and the such but experimenting with the sax. I live pretty far from my neighbors anyway, and almostheaven i already play the drums but my parents have confined me to the basement and only when we dont have visitors ;)

almostheaven 05-06-2007 10:03 PM

LOL Two words. Your parents will thank you...

Practice Pads. ;)
