The Rox couldn't get it done tonight either. Should have been able to sweep San Fran. Oh Well, we're still not out of it yet!!

newFannie07 09-06-2007 08:27 PM

I'm back from vacation. Just goes to show you how a couple of weeks can really make the difference in baseball! Only 1 game out of 1st! WOOHOO. But when did the dang Cubs get into 1st place? How does something like this happen?;)

Kerri

YES LORI I did see the CARDINAL score.

Welcome back KERRI! I hope you had a great time!

I just want you CARDINAL BABES to know that rooting for you brings back a very deep wound for me. You see back in 1964 I was 10 years old...every 10 year old boy at that time loved those damn Yankees. My father, being from Illinois and a Cubs fan growing up (although he was in California now and a DODGER fan ~ me too, but they weren't in it) he was a National league fan so he was for the CARDINALS in the World Series, I was for the Yankees...cannot believe I admit that....remember I was 10! Anyway I lost in 7 games....dang GIBSON!...heartbreaking to lose a bet to your dad at 10 years old!!! wink...he took it easy on me....those were the days...listening to the little pocket radio at school during the day....memories!

Clydegirl 09-06-2007 09:12 PM

What a great game today against the Pirates.

I love Rick Ankiel. You couldn't make that up the way he has come back into the game.

Thank you Dodgers for beating those Cubbies.

Tears at my heartstrings. Brought a big lump to my throat ;)

I'll forgive your father for being a cubs fan.

Nail biter for us last night against the Orioles, right after work today I'm on the plane to go down there and support the boys.

This is the third year I've gone to Baltimore for the games, the city is packed with Sox fans, and at the park they probably outnumber the O's fans 3-1. It's very fun.

Tickets are $15 and the park is beautiful, very cheap weekend and very fun, although nothing beats Fenway.

Red Sox girl...

My DH and I are also part of RED SOX NATION ;). Two weeks from today we're going to St. Pete to see the sox play the Devil Rays. It's a riot being in Tropicana Field when the Sox play. There are so many retirees from New England living in Tampa/St. Pete/Clearwater; plus tourists. The poor Devil Rays fans are outnumbered probably 7 to 1 :p Tickets are normally pretty cheap..but they charge a premium when the Sox or the Yankees :p are there.

Enjoy your trip to Baltimore..GO SOX !! :carrot:

Clydegirl 09-07-2007 10:24 AM

Hi RSG.

$15 a ticket wow that's cheap. The prices they charge here are outrageous. It's $15 for standing room only tickets.

Mind you every game is sold out.

EZMONEY 09-07-2007 02:29 PM

Hummm...so is it true ANKIEL had some of BIG HEAD'S juice?

REDSOX BABES ~Have fun at your games wherever you watch your guys play...oh and THANKS AGAIN for taking j.d. drew off our hands!! thank-you...thank-you...thank-you...;)

redsoxgirl 09-07-2007 02:35 PM

Games here are always sold out, I think our bleacher seats are $25 but you can never get them for face value. In Baltimore you can get them they day of the game.

J.D. Drew, kills me, seriously, I think I can hit better than him. Our young guys will be replacing him as a starter soon if he can't get it together.

Have a great weekend all, go Sox.

Clydegirl 09-07-2007 04:52 PM

They're talking about that here today Gary :(

Would be sad if it is true.

Diamondbacks tonight yikes.

mom2fivesweeties 09-07-2007 05:24 PM

The St.Louis Post Dispatch said that the drugs and usage were before 2005. I think whenever one of these guys does really well, someone has to dig this stuff up. I still love him - he's great. Course I thougt Big Mac was too back in the day and I can't stand him anymore - those blow-up arms of his just kind of killed it for me.
