Does anybody have any Twinkies? The shelves are bare around here.
I have fond memories, but they haven't been on my eating plan for years. (Are grownups even allowed to eat them?) |

My DW is fond of Madelines - the same spongy cake but no filling. They are sooooooo good. they are not allowed in our house except for limited quantities on special occasions. |

The attachment is obscene - not fit for healthy minds.
Nor does it even contain the nutritional labeling as required by law. [Clue: The heading is: Twinkie Cake] |
Oh my!
 |
When will they be ready, Karen ?
|
They are very good and I've made them for kids birthdays and it is always a big hit!! They taste just like twinkies!!!

Zan--this is for you!!
Twinkie Cake 1 Baked Yellow Cake Mix (9 X 13 inch pan) Cooled Filling: 1 cup water 3 TBS. Cornstarch Mix and cook until thick. Then let cool. 2 Sticks butter, softened 1 Cup sugar 1 tsp. vanilla Mix this together until light and fluffy. Mix cornstarch mixture in and beat well. Cut the cake crosswise and lengthwise to make quaarters.lift one quarter out and with a sharp bread knife divide through the middle to make a top and bottom. Spread the bottom with the filling evenly and place the top back on. Put it back in the pan. Continue with the other three pieces of cake. After you get them all filled and back in the pan, cut to the size of Twinkies. Keep in refrigerator. |
:( Oh my, I left on vacation and missed the twinkie cakes.
I lost 3 pounds over Thanksgiving week, so I'm not really complaining. :D |
Thanks Karen!
Cellphone data limits are evil. I might have to make those for the guys at work. A little spoiling of the coworkers is never a bad thing. ;) |
Zam, they are good and easy to make too!! What more could you ask for!!!
