Are the 12 days of Christmas before or after Christmas? Inquiring minds want to know.

I have been given the :judge: authority by an unnamed :sssh: source to change the rules :book2:...

Rule #1 ~ Have a safe and HAPPY NEW YEAR! :newyear:

WebRover 12-31-2010 04:55 PM

Christmas is the first day of Christmas.
Epiphany (the day the three Wise Men visited Christ) is the 12th day.

So the materialistic secular Christmas ends on Christmas day (or eve) when all the paper is shredded off all the gifts and people start taking their decorations down.

That's when the Christian Christmas starts.

Pay no attention to this person as he is self appointed.
PS it is OK to have a New Year !

WebRover 12-31-2010 07:08 PM

My fellow Threadkillers - are you celebrating the new year quietly at home, party at home or are you celebrating out somewhere?

We're quietly celebrating at home.

Karen31 12-31-2010 07:37 PM

We're celebrating New Year's/anniversary quietly at home and enjoying our soup and medicated vaporizer!! So exciting!! After we get over this "Human Parvo" then we will celebrate our 40th anniversary! Nasty bug to last almost a month long now!!

Hope everyone has a SAFE AND HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

'Tis the eighth day of Christmas and the eight maids a-milking are going to be here as soon as the sun comes up. It'll be darned crowded with the cows, milking stools, pails and the manure shovel. I wonder if they'll want lunch? Remind me not to invite them for next year. I can BUY milk without all this fuss!

:newyear: HAPPY NEW YEARS DAY EVERYBODY

Angie and I went all wild :dancer: and  last night for New Years

Started with dropping off a dresser and bookcase Angie refinished at my son/dil's house for soon to be GRANDdaughter.....

then off to see the new TRUE GRIT..... see it!

then off to our favorite :hungry: Italian joint that we do most New Years Eves...treated nephew and step-d/bf to dinner, my kids had other plans...

then watched AVATAR for the first time....has been on our shelf for months :D.....

in bed by 11:00 :)

woke up at 11:55....thought about going down to turn TV on...for about 3 seconds :D...

back to sleep by 11:57

But the paper WAS here at 4:45 when I got up :woohoo:

Have a great day everyone...see you in a few hours

Happy New Year!

Stayed up long enough to see the year turn. I remember when 2000 was some time WAY in the future. Then it was here and now it's long past.

2011 here we are!

EZMONEY 01-02-2011 08:41 AM

Well, so much for New Years resolutions.....
