Sent the step-d off to Americorps this morning....fed her and all the kids at our favorite Mexican joint last night.....

Hm. I want a smiley that just runs around screaming. That'd sum up my post real good.

My brother got into a car accident.
Is there a limit to how much family members can freak one out?
'Cause I sure hope he has filled his quota for the year at least!

;)

Yesterday my 84 year old aunt fell off of a ladder. She broke 3 ribs and punctured her lung. What was she doing on a ladder you might ask? The light bulb burned out on the front porch. You gotta love independent and stubborn women!!

EZMONEY 10-08-2010 11:55 PM

Prayers ladies!

And please...please... move along, there is nothing to see here....

BillBlueEyes 10-09-2010 04:42 AM

Sending supportive thoughts that your aunt heals, cathydoe, and continues to be independent for another thirty years.

And Super Yay for "independent and stubborn women!!"

bargoo 10-09-2010 02:22 PM

Cathy , I love your aunt! I hope she heals quickly .

Ruthxxx 10-10-2010 05:24 AM

 I can relate to your aunt, Cathy.

Italy was terrific and I behaved myself ... most of the time. My Italian is much improved.

EZMONEY 10-10-2010 09:25 AM

Glad you had a nice trip RUTH....

My Italian improved a lot too after I married Angie....

before that the only Italian I knew was spaghetti and pizza....

now I know pasta alla vodka, pasta all carbonara, fettucinie alfredo....

EZMONEY 10-11-2010 11:58 AM

Over 24 hours without a post...

you people should be ashamed of yourselves!

bargoo 10-11-2010 12:55 PM

I had a good excuse, my keyboard died. I have a new one, now , so will be back in action !

Good, then y'all can help me out.

Think of some common items that are referred to by the name of the company that made them big rather than what they are. Such as....

Kleenex
Dickies
Levis
Carhardts
Sorrells
Leatherman
Saran Wrap
Cool Whip
Phillips Screwdriver
Coke(in some parts of the country still)
Xerox

What can y'all think of???

Operator265 10-11-2010 01:39 PM

There is also Allen Wrench.

In fact, Gary should be able to look in his tool box and load this list since that happens a lot with tools.

Just saw a T-shirt at a rest stop:

"My brain hurts."
"We'll have to take it out then."

I think that's from a Monty Python skit. This thread reminds me of that.

http://www.ibras.dk/montypython/episode32.htm ... the script.
