I was born with a bunion on my left foot. I have SERIOUS shoe jealousy when I see women able to wear cool sandals!!!

Heidi58 01-03-2010 01:02 PM

I love to play Scrabble.
I'm pretty good, too. :D

Passionista 01-03-2010 01:11 PM

I was invited to play Scrabble today by friends I haven't seen in a long time and I'm so looking forward to it because I've been lonely!

Back to the shoe thing, I remove my shoes when entering a home and am almost obsessive about washing my feet really often!

Heidi58 01-03-2010 01:18 PM

Oh, have fun today! :D
(I was trying to change the subject - I know way too much about everyone and their foot obsessions now.... ;))

I can write, cut, eat, etc. equally well with either hand.
But I catch and throw much better with my right.

murphmitch 01-04-2010 07:39 PM

I was a spelling bee queen in high school, but had competition from another girl, and we were always dueling each other at the end.

cathydoe 01-04-2010 09:30 PM

My husband and I collect "State" shaped magnets of the states we have been to together. We hope to have one from each of the states someday.

srr728 01-06-2010 05:46 AM

I usually have between 15 and 30 library books at home. Last year I was lucky enough to read 106 books...geeky, but I love it

stargzr 01-06-2010 01:22 PM

When I sleep I can't let any of my body parts hang over the edge of the bed AND I always have to be covered, even if it's just a sheet. I'm afraid something will grab me from under the bed and pull me under. (weird, I know)

PearFreak 01-06-2010 02:32 PM

Same here, Stargzr... no body parts of the sid eof the bed.

I always eat atleast 2, if not 3 pieces of whole fruit a day.

jigglefree 01-06-2010 03:11 PM

I had my first and only child at 43. I always said I am not a baby factory, then I turned 40 and had to have one.

zanheltangia 01-06-2010 03:28 PM

;p

I hit my brother with a heeled shoe in elementary school, the only time I can remember me getting in trouble on the bus.

C'mon, it was my BROTHER! :smug:

EZMONEY 01-06-2010 05:36 PM

my littlest brother once hit my next youngest brother in the face with a 2x4....when they were 4 and 6....smackaroonie.....

murphmitch 01-06-2010 06:31 PM

I got a perfect score on my certification exam for Maternal Newborn Nursing.

cathydoe 01-06-2010 07:13 PM

Woo Hoo Anne!

When I student taught I received an "A" Do u know what 16 credits at an A does to your GPA?? Hoot!

Heidi58 01-10-2010 02:49 PM

My best friend named her dog after me.
I could never figure out if it was a compliment or not. ;) lol

murphmitch 01-10-2010 04:56 PM

I lived with my best friend Nan for several years. No one could believe we were "Nan & Anne" when we went out. We also married guys that were roommates.

northcarolina RN 01-13-2010 02:29 PM

I stabbed my sister with a fork when we were young and we both blamed it on the dog...

Heidi58 01-14-2010 06:22 PM

^ I thought we were the only violent sisters.....
My younger sister stabbed me with a fork when we were in grade school. I've forgotten what we were arguing about now, but I suppose I provoked her. ;) By the time our parents got home the fight was forgotten - but I've still got a scar on my upper arm.

cathydoe 01-16-2010 10:39 AM

Another thread reminded me of this...my mom always made me angels food cake for my birthday with chocolate frosting. It was my favorite! I miss my mom.

EZMONEY 01-16-2010 09:04 PM

I miss my mom too!

She always made me PLAIN Angel Food cake! Just like I liked it with vanilla ice cream.....

We will have our family/friends 3rd Annual Gramma/i Judi's Chili celebration sometime the week after Super Bowl here at my house....

northcarolina RN 01-18-2010 10:06 AM

I make my kids pancakes with food coloring in it....it all started with green ones on St Patricks day...now I just can't make them plain anymore..They won't let me.

Heidi58 01-18-2010 05:37 PM

I swallow my chewing gum.

So do I!

I loved math in school....

murphmitch 01-19-2010 06:13 PM

I took all the math I could in high school, scored high in it on my ACT exam. Can't remember any of it anymore and my hubby had to help my kids in algebra.

Heidi58 01-19-2010 06:35 PM

I always enjoyed math classes in school but I absolutely hate balancing my checkbook....

EZMONEY 01-19-2010 08:06 PM

I balance my checkbook every single week-end by going on-line to my bank accounts... Easy that way...

calluna 01-19-2010 08:17 PM

Only if you are disciplined enough to do it each week!

I have over a hundred bottles of ink. And wherever possible, I prefer to write with fountain pens (I collect them...the ink just accumulates) to ballpoints or rollerballs.

The fun part of it is that I use and teach technology all day, every day for a living. I guess some of us just appreciate good engineering!

My way is easier Gary - my husband does it. ;)

EZMONEY 01-19-2010 08:52 PM

HA!...Angie does her own!

My wife and I have separate accounts but access to both....we each pay certain bills out of our accounts....

northcarolina RN 01-20-2010 09:59 AM

I am currently working hard to pay off my credit card bill. I am hoping that the tax refund will be the end of it...

srmb60 01-20-2010 10:25 AM

I bit my nails until I was about 45.

We heard on the TV not long ago that that's what every couple should do, have 2 accounts. But, we've had a joint account since we got married 30 years ago and it's always worked well for us so we're not going to change now. I do balance our checkbook every now and then, but the truth is I'm more than happy to leave that task to Fergie.

Sskar 01-21-2010 06:56 AM

My wise father said the secret to a happy marriage was that one person controlled the checkbook and the other person abided by whatever rules had been set by the checkbook queen/king.

We have 2 accounts. I balance to the penny - thank goodness for Quicken. My sweetie could care less about the balancing act and let's Quicken do it all, but insists on paying all theshared bills from her account. Fine by me. I just turn in my copies of the one joint credit card receipts.

murphmitch 01-21-2010 07:52 PM

Two accounts here too. I use Microsoft Money. My husband is an accountant so I have to balance to the penny or he's got his nose in it to find out why. Separate credit cards too.

northcarolina RN 01-22-2010 09:45 AM

I have been know to give my kids popcorn for lunch.

EZMONEY 01-22-2010 08:09 PM

I have eaten popcorn for dinner

sweetcakes736 01-22-2010 11:18 PM

I like to beat my husband at video games

expatlady 01-23-2010 12:38 AM

My honey comes back from the war today. Sorry, can't post much more than that. Just excited!!

EZMONEY 01-23-2010 10:25 PM

Give that hero a hug from me expatlady

I will watch my daughter run a marathon tomorrow...have done it before...
