How to Count Percentages

How do you know how to figure up the percent of carbs, fat, and protein that you eat (the 40, 30, 30 ratio)?

I never bother with this. I just eat foods low on the glycemic index.

Have you tried Fitday.com... great site for calorie counting, they have a data base of stuff but you can add your own with the calories counts on boxes of food... I use it regularly.... see my signature for example...

I also don't bother with worrying about it. I just stick to legal foods, and limit my starchy carb servings to two or three a day. Sugarbusters is actually much easier than it looks! ;)

Hi there!

I know that as followers of SB, it is not really required/necessary to strictly adhere to these guidelines or to count calories, but especially if you are just starting out, it might be helpful to have a clear picture of what you're consuming each day. The Discovery Health Channel has a very helpful site with many tools to help you figure these things out. They have a food log which calculates your caloric intake, as well as protein, carbs, fats, sugar and fiber of your meals. It's pretty easy to use. The tools are free for the first month, then I guess you have to pay for it, but if you want to just try it out you don't need to give them any credit card info or anything. The website address is: http://in2nutrition.com/discovery2/

Hope this helps and best of luck to you!
