Question about grilling

Ok I grill almost everything I eat on my big outdoor gas grill. I love my veggies grilled they are so yum.

But my question is this:

Every web site I use or have found does not give nutrition values for grilled chicken breast. The choices are always fried, broiled or roasted. Does grilling the chicken lower the fat content? I only wonder because if you broil it the meat would be sitting in any fat that has come off of the meat and when you grill it the fat drips into the grill.

Hope this isn't to lame of a question.

Thanks for any help.

I always use roasted, but have had the same question! I consider it to be roasted, like a rotisserie chicken where the fat drips off, so I think it's the closest choice.

I think that grilled would be the same as roasted or broiled, as long as you're doing it at home. When I broil, I do it on a rack so the fat cooks off the same way as it does when I grill it. But watch out for 'grilled' at restaurants - they use a flat griddle type of grill and often add fat. :(

Fran, beware of rotisserie chicken - it often has fat (and other stuff) injected into it to make it taste good. See if yours has an ingredient label ... chicken shouldn't really have ingredients, you know?

i use an online nutrition tracker and for chicken breast - grilled, boneless:
Calories 101, Carbs 0, Protein 20.2, Fat 2, Sodium 414.8 - Hope that helps!!

Thanks for the help ladies. I have always used the broiled option but was just wondering if I was getting a correct count.
