A fun food question
If you could have any meal - any meal at all - that you could savor and enjoy and it wouldn't count toward your calorie intake, what would it be?

I have a fantastic recipe for tomato corn pie. It has a biscuit crust (top and bottom crust) and a filling consisting of layers of corn, basil, tomatoes, prosciutto, chives, lemon aioli, and cheddar cheese. When made with ripe heirloom tomatoes it is just to die for. It is my all time favorite meal, but it comes out to over 600 calories per serving (it's the biscuit crust, the corn, the cheese, and the mayonaise in the aioli). I know I could reduce the calories by tweaking the recipe a bit (and I have other tomato pie recipes that aren't so high in calories), but the end result, although I'm sure it would still be good, would be substandard to the tomato pie I love.
So I would have that (and while we're fantasizing, I'd also have a chef to make it for me and clean the kitchen afterwards, cause it's a lot of work). For dessert I would have chocolate zucchini cake (with chocolate chips mixed into the batter) with chocolate icing and hazelnut spread between the layers.

Sushi and Chinese food. Then for dessert, I would have my mom's Banana Spice Cake.

I'd go for the Chef's Tasting Menu at the French Laundry - with wine, of course. Assuming I could ever afford to go to the French Laundry, or even get a reservation there.... one day!

I'd go to Chez Panisse in Berkeley and eat whatever she put in front of me, also with wine. I've done this twice, and also eaten at the cafe upstairs once...its literally the most amazing food I've ever tasted.

When I first started thinking about the question, the answer was really hard. Once I thought about it, the answer is easy! I'd go to my favorite restaurant in DC. It is called Cafe Atlantico. The food is awesome. Portions aren't standard american portions so you can have an appetizer, a main course and dessert without feeling like you are about to burst!

Gee Linda, That's a big decision to make. I'll have to think on it for a while.

It would probably be different almost any day you asked, but today, slow barbecued ribs sound really good to me, with "good" homemade potato salad.
And sweet corn. Mmmm.

You know what I want? A Barnyard Buster.
For those who may not know what that is, it's 2 biscuits, 2 eggs (I always got them scrambled) and country fries all on one plate smothered in sausage gravy.
Man oh man, that's some good stuff. I used to eat those things on a regular basis. I haven't had one in years.
Oh yeah, and a side of fried chicken, lol!
