Quick, satisfying peach dessert for under 100 calories!

  • About a week and a half ago, I purchased several cans of sliced peaches (packed in their own juice) and I didn't really know what I wanted to do with them. Sure, they're great on their own, but the tartness doesn't really appeal to my sweet tooth. So, I came up with a quick and easy dessert that really tastes great. And for only 90 calories, how can you go wrong?

    Ingredients:
1/2 cup canned, sliced peaches, packed in juice
    1/2 tbs. unpacked brown sugar
1 tbs. cool whip (you could use whipped cream, but I think it's got a higher caloric content)

Drain the peaches, put them in a small bowl and sprinkle the sugar evenly on top. Pop in the microwave until hot (for me, hot enough is 30 seconds), stir, and I usually have to drain again. Top with cool whip, and you're good to go!

Now that I think about it, it would probably taste good with a little bit of cinnamon. I'll definitely have to try that! I hope you all enjoy my not-very-cobbly peach cobbler
  • That sounds lovely! I bet you could do the same dish with apples too.

I'm going to try this at the weekend.

Apples would be yummy, too! No doubt that they would take longer to cook, but probably not THAT much longer. Maybe a minute as opposed to half of one.
