But I like the idea of mixing them into sauces- do you do that? What kind of sauces, if you do? I know some people like them in marinara.
So I now realize this is a little weird.. I grew up with a dad who HATES anchovies and a mother who loved to cook Italian (like all good jews, of course!!!). So the classic putanesca sauce calls for anchovies and she would substitute sardines...

But putanesca sauce is actually not bad for a food choice--except maybe for the salt... onions, olives, capers, tomatoes (anchovies (or in my family sardines) It is easier, quicker than marinara.. and pretty tasty. ( It is the ultimate kitchen sink dish.. you throw whatever you have in there and it always works out!

High fiber tortillas, sandwich thins, peanut butter and co maple peanut butter (so good I can have a fraction of the serving and be satisfied!), trader joe's peanut butter protein bars, trader joe's peanut butter unsalted pretzel bites (mmmm, can you sense my peanut butter love?) Also the cinnamon bun miniwheats (a serving size is 47!!!) to snack on when I'm craving sweets or crunchy snacks.

Also digging sugar free torani syrup + skim or 1% milk in my coffee to replace all flavored creamers.

Edited to add: AND AND AND CHOCOLATE VITA TOPS. OMG.

-soup. 2 cups=200 calories (I know it's high in salt, but some of the low sodium ones taste ok)
-chicken bratwurst (a lot of them have mozzerella cheese in it. 130 calories for one and % of fat isn't very much either. SOOOoo good it doesn't need any ketchup/salsa/sauce)
-Jimmy Dean's turkey sausage/egg white sandwich (260 calories)

I really like this idea. I would love to add fresh fish as my MVP but too costly. I do like tinned sardines but never sure what to do with them other then throwing on top of salad. And they are so good for us too.
