avoiding tomato based foods and orange/grapefruit (fruit or juice) - anything that is naturally acidic.

But the biggest thing for me is losing weight. I'm at about 5% loss now and in just these 3 weeks, there is already a huge difference. I think I've taken one of my pills once, instead of just about every day.

I was eating tums like crazy 3 weeks ago until I started trying to lose weight. I honestly haven't had any heartburn or acid reflux since! I've cut out all soda, almost all refined sugars, and I've cut down drastically on grain. I'm not sure what exactly accounts for the no reflux, but something is

I don't think there is a specific forum, but try avoiding acidic food such as tomatoes, vinaigrette, fried foods and citrus. I suffer from acid reflux as well. Try drinking chamomile tea once a day to settle your stomach.

Most common triggers:

- acidic fruits and veggies (tomatoes, oranges, onions, peppers etc)
- mint as it relaxes the esophageal sphincter
- high fat foods
- anything spicy

food that was a trigger for me:

- all of the above
- white bread
- pasta
- oatmeal
- chocolate
- tea + coffee
- cheese

I used and abused Tums like nobody's business. Then moved onto zantac before finally getting a procedure done to rid myself of the main cause of my acid reflux (stricture). Now I take proton-pump inhibitors and am symptom free. WONDERFUL!

good luck!
