Default Green Tea Ice Cream

Has anyone ever heard of green tea ice cream? Someone told me about it this weekend.

Yes! And it is typically pretty awesome . I can usually only find it in Asian grocery stores. Whole Foods near me sometimes has a soy ice cream that is green tea flavored, though.

I've tried this one: http://www.haagendazs.com/products/product.aspx?id=358

It's by Haagen-Dazs, so I find many places carry it. It's on the expensive side, but also made of natural ingredients (cream, skim milk, sugar, egg yolks, green tea). Enjoy.

I went to the Asian Market on my lunch break and found some. One pit cost $3.99. I'm not really fond of the taste. I LOVE any green tea beverage but the juror is still out on the ice green. Although it taste just like green tea, I'm just not sure.

This is the kind I bought.

I just heard about this a few days ago in a video I was watching on YouTube. I've been dying to try it because I LOVE green tea.
Be sure to update if you try the Haagen-Dazs!

Ice cream is a major trigger food for me so I have never tried green tea ice cream. I believe it is made with matcha powder which is a different taste than brewed green tea. Wiki link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matcha

I've tried green tea ice cream many times out of curiosity, it's well....strange. I think green tea is pretty good (not in love with it) and green tea ice basically tastes as of you made a cup of really string green tea and added a bunch of Hal and half and sugar. I've heard in my town there's a restaurant that serves up fried green tea ice cream which I'd like to try

I absolutely love green tea/matcha ice cream. It's a pretty standard staple at restaurants that serve sushi or hibachi style Japanese food!

well, that's good because even though it has green tea it probably still has all the fat and calories of ice cream lol this isn't exactly a healthy food.
