Good snack between meals?
I am trying to eat small snacks between meals because before I started dieting, I would go soooo long without eating a meal, then when I did eat it would be a heavy meal.
I figured small amount of fruit, veggies, unsalted pretzels, rice cake, carrots, box of raisins, not this all together, but does this sound ok? Today I have about 12-15 mini pretzels and a tiny box of raisins for a snack. After I eat dinner tonight I won't have anything, esp after 7.
What does eveyone else have?

I include protein with every snack. I have string cheese with apple or PB2 with celery. Sometimes if I'm rushing out the door, I have Luna Protein bar in cookie dough. I also like a low calorie cracker (I forgot the name but it's only 30 calories of whole grain) with a cottage cheese single and salsa. Or, egg whites and salsa.

I find I am less hungry with big, infrequent meals, so take this ith a grain of salt. If I am munchy and really need more fuel I try to combine a fat and fiber food. Faux pumpkin pie with a cup of canned pumpkin, spices, heavy cream, and a little stevia is excellent. An apple and an ounce of a strongly flavored cheese hits the spot. Kale chips or carrots and some salt and butter are also phenomenal.
But that's just me. I used to eat five or six meals a day but two or three, max, has worked out so much better.

I do eat three snacks and three meals - one snack is always a fruit, another always something with protein (usually cherry tomatoes and/or baby carrots with hummus), and the last is whatever fits into my calorie range (usually popcorn or something like it).
When I pack snacks for my coworkers, it's pretty much cheese and wasa crackers, peanut butter and apple, turkey jerky, a variety of nuts with or without dried fruit, Greek yogurt, or a protein bar.

Popsecret buttered popcorn, 100-calorie bags. It's not like other snacks which are gone in three or four bites. I also spray butter-flavored Pam on it to enhance the butter flavor.

my snack in the morning after breakfast is usually a banana with a coffee-protein shake (1c milk, 1 scoop protein powder, spoon full of instant coffee, pinch of splenda, blender for 30 seconds, delish).
string cheese and/or nuts with another type of fruit or veggie after lunch.

I sometimes have a glass of whole fat milk. Goat's milk is my fav. If I am extra hungry, I will have a hardboiled egg to go with it.

This is me too. If it's your tendancy to eat this way, don't fight it, just modify it!
Look into IF, if you want . I eat 1-2 huge meals a day and love it!
If I am feeling munchy I go for Almonds, Kale chips, cheese, pickles, olives, eggs... One of my favorite things in a piece of cheese rolled around a piece of chicken breast and a pickle . It hits the fat/protein/salty trifecta and keeps me full for a while.

I do well on 1 or 2 meals a day as well. Sometimes one snack per day and sometimes no snack at all.

One of my favorite snacks, which is really wonderful when you're out of calories but dieing to have something, are these fat free jello cups. they only have 10 calories for a cup. love them!

Doh! How could I have forgotten that? A hardboiled egg with plenty of salt and pepper and some dark chocolate is an excellent, satiating after dinner snack.

I don't really snack, but if I do, I usually have a piece of fruit. I also like hummus with cukes and baby carrots.

I love natural, unsweetened applesauce in those little cups that are only 50 calories. So good and refreshing! I also love powdered peanut butter (pb2) which have way less calories than normal peanut butter (just mix water). That's it. I cannot buy chips or raisins because I tend to indulge in them.

I vary. I love having 1 to 2 BIG meals a day (like stated above), i do feel less hungry then when i eat smaller meals. Then, sometimes, I enjoy a bunch of snacking and tiny meals all day. Other days I do a combination. One big meal and a few small meals, etc. It works for me because its a variety. Some days I just feel hungrier than others, on those days when i eat a big meal then it stops the hunger and I end up only eating another big meal. Other days I dont feel hungry at all so I snack. The busier I am the smaller my meals tend to be.
As for snacks, I love a green apple with some peanut butter. Fills me up every time!
I will also have a smaller salad for a snack.
Strawberries, Oranges. I love fruit.

I had a cup of fruit and a small piece of beef jerky today in-between lunch and dinner. It kept me going for hours!
