Stomach problems with almond milk?

The last two days I have been getting horrible indigestion-like stomach cramps/gas pains in the afternoon. The only new thing I've had is almond milk. I only had 1/2 cup though. Could this be causing it?? I don't have any probs with regular milk, or with almonds for that matter (I eat them almost every day), just wanted to try the almond milk for something new.

I don't think it's a bad batch, because my son has been drinking it and is fine. The only other thing that I have had both yesterday and today is an apple and greek yogurt, both of which I have been eating regularly for months.

I drink almond milk regularly instead of dairy milk and have never had those problems. But, we all have different reactions to different foods, and just because you're fine with almonds doesn't mean you're okay with almond milk.

That being said, I'd try going without it for a week to see if there's something else in your environment causing those problems.

any chance there's stevia in the almond milk? My husband has stomach issues if he eats or drinks anything with stevia, though it doesn't bother me.

Nope, it does not contain stevia. It does have carrageenan, which Dr. Google says can cause the same problems I was having. Stomach has been fine since Friday, so it could be the milk or a coincidence, but I will not be trying the milk again to confirm! :)

uh oh, I just bought it today for the first time and had a cupful. Well at least if my stomach gives me problems I know what caused it! Glad you're feeling better!
