Help with buying a new blender

I am looking to buy a new blender. Does anyone have any insight on either of these? I have a 20% off coupon for Bed Bath and Beyond. The prices for these two would end up being close. I looked at the Oster site but the one at Bed Bath and Beyond isn't listed.

Someone here recommended the CUisinart Stick Blender because ALL i wanted was to make smoothies and I didn't want anything on my counter. Then a friend said No - they won't make them "smooth" enough, but I went ahead and got it - LOVE IT! Also did the BB&B deal and got 20% off the $30 price ... Have to say we're pleased with it and I like have two small things to clean (a "beaker" and a stick thingy) ... but don't mean to add another factor that doesn't match what you're looking for... Just another idea that I got from 3fc and have been pleased.
