Default No sugar makes me cranky!

When I diet I get really run down and tired. I feel cranky, irritable, really out of it and in a haze. I think that this is because of my 'withdrawal' from sugary junk foods that my body is used to and also because of low blood sugar. Does anybody have any tips to boost your blood sugar while dieting? Or have any suggestions for energy boosting foods?

Without knowing more about your diet it is hard to say. Are you eating enough? What are you eating? What did you used to eat?

if you are radically changing your diet makeup (i.e. taking out all the junk when junk used to make up a hefty portion of your diet) you may be going through withdrawal.

One technique that works for many is to eat as much as you want of the foods you eventually want to be your core foods, even if that means you are eating too much to lose weight. After a couple weeks of eating cleanly, when you have detoxed from the sugar addiction, then you can worry about portions and calories.

I'm on day 15 of a sugar-free challenge ....and it's hard! I felt so angry and cranky several times. It has really taken alot to stay on plan and to be focused. I hate actually spend the first few days eating lots of dates to help control my cravings. I grew up eating sugar every single day so it's like an emotional bond, physical craving, and habit that I'm dealing with all at once.

After time though you will feel radiant.
