Must Try: Siggi's Yogurt

  • I was at Whole Foods yesterday and picked up some Siggi's Icelandic style yogurt. While I was initially attracted to it by its packaging (something about understated pen and ink drawings gets me every time) and interesting flavors (I picked up Orange & Ginger and Pomegranate & Passion Fruit) I was completely sold when I realized it had only 120 calories, was fat free, and had 16g protein per serving. It also contains no artificial sweeteners. It's super thick (almost the same texture as cream cheese) and creamy. An excellent find. I'm going back to the store today to buy every container on the shelf.
  • I've been dying to try that for a while! It seems so expensive compared to other similar yogurts, but thanks to your enthusiastic recommendation I can better justify the purchase. I'm always on the lookout for good sources of protein anyways. Which flavor is the best to try first?
  • I really liked the Orange & Ginger flavor. I actually found the Pomegranate & Passion Fruit flavor a little too tart (I added a sprinkle of Kashi Go Lean Crunch and it was awesome, though). There's also a Blueberry flavor that I'm looking forward to trying. There's just something so satisfying about eating something that rich and creamy that won't totally blow your progress. Also, I'm not a huge meat eater and I am always looking for non-meat protein sources and this is a good one.
