What's your favorite SALAD combo?

  • In an effort to lose more weight..I am trying to eat more salads. Do you have a favorite SALAD combo that my seem unusual but is really quite good?

    Here is mine.

    Spinach
    Romaine Lettuce
    Peppered Turkey (cut in cubes)
Blueberries (I know...but it is so good)
    1/2 Avacado (peeled of course)
    Parm cheese
    Sunflower seeds (about tblespoon)

No dressing is necessary...just make sure to get a blueberry or avacado piece with each bite. Really Good!
  • Oh that sounds yummy!

I like to put the following in my salads:

    Romaine lettuce
    Spinach
    Hard Boiled Egg
    Sesame Seeds
    Chow Mein Noodles
    Blue Cheese Crumbles
    1 TBS Blue Cheese Dressing

I know it's not alot but the taste is incredible.
  • I like taco salads!

I use lettuce, low-fat cheddar (or mexican blend already shredded) and lean turkey instead of ground beef, cooked according to taco seasoning package. I think I am making that for dinner tomorrow night.

Otherwise, I like salad with crab, shrimp, any kind of fish, chicken, steak, you name it... I either put on some low-fat or fat-free italian dressing (Safeway carries some in little packets so you have a premeasured amount) or I just dump garlic powder, seasoning salt, pepper, Mrs. Dash and parm cheese on it.

I also like grated cheese on my salads in general, even if there is no meat at all.
