Frozen yogurt, anyone?

  • Since it's summer and I'm staying at my parents' house, I decided to take advantage of their ice cream maker tonight by making some dark chocolate raspberry frozen yogurt and it was GOOD. I'm not sure how the leftovers will be, considering frozen yogurt tends to freeze rock solid, but we shall see. I used unflavored gelatin in my recipe because I had heard that it would help. I figured it might be nice to see what frozen yogurt (or lower calorie ice cream) recipes you guys love!

    Here's the recipe for mine:

    Dark Chocolate Raspberry Frozen Yogurt

    2.5 cups frozen raspberries, thawed
    1 envelope unflavored gelatin
    1/4 cup cold water
1/2 cup Splenda (you could substitute with sugar)
1 cup Hershey's Special Dark Cocoa, sifted (really good stuff!)
    2 cups nonfat plain yogurt
    1 tsp vanilla extract
    1 tsp almond extract

In a small saucepan, pour in the cold water and sprinkle gelatin over it. Let stand one minute, then heat on low until the gelatin is fully dissolved. In a medium sized bowl, combine all ingredients and mix well. Put into ice cream maker per manufacturer's instructions and let it do its magic.
  • Yumm!! This sounds terrific!!!
  • Ohhh! YES Please!!!
