Low-Cal French Toast!
I just made 215 calorie french toast! as opposed to 435 calories for 2 pieces of regular french toast..
I used 2 pieces of 50 calorie Franz Net-4 reduced carb bread (i get it at walmart and albertsons, kind of expensive though..$3.72 at walmart, $4 at albertsons.) I beat 1 egg and added a splash of fat free milk and cinnamon and a packet of walmart brand sweetener. After it was done I sprayed some I can't believe it's not buttter! on it and 1/8 of a cup of Cary's sugar-free syrup (you dont need much, i could have used 1/4 of a cup but i dont like that much syrup). MMMM...french toast. I'm in love with this sugar-free syrup, 30 calories for 1/4 of a cup compared to 210 calories for 1/4 cup of regular syrup...thats a big difference. then i had a cup of coffee with a tsp of hersheys cocoa powder (10 calories), 2 packets of sweetener, and some fat free milk (35 calories total) :coffee: it was a good breakfast :chef: |
It saves even more cals if you use eggbeaters instead of a regular egg. I LOVE a low cal version of french toast...feels so indulgent with none of the guilt.
