I'm Looking For A Recipe

I'm looking for a recipe for a healthy potato chowder, it is my favorite kind of soup!! My mom makes a to-die-for bacon/potato/cheddar chowder that has an insane amount of fat and calories and I've been craving it constantly lately so I'm hoping to find a good stand in that's still thick and creamy by not quite so bad for me!

I did a search here and didn't seem to find one. So, you might want to try:

http://www.cookinglight.com/cooking/

Plug in potato chowder into the search box (chose recipes, although it works either way). Actually I just tried it and it works slightly differently. If you do an "Entire Site" search it only returns recipes from Cooking Light (6) with the exact potato chowder. If you do recipes, it returns a variety of recipes (more from Cooking Light, but also some from non-light sources). Hopefully you'll find something you like.

(Me, I wouldn't know a good potato chowder, so I thought I'd just point you in the direction.)

If you like corn in your chowder, I've made Cooking Light's Corn and Fingerling Potato Chowder with Bacon and it came out great. You could definitely sub frozen corn for the fresh that it calls for. I've also subbed turkey kielbasa for the bacon.

If you don't like corn in your chowder, you might try Baked Potato Soup. I haven't made this recipe, but it has gotten great reviews online. I would bet that it's pretty close to the chowder your mom makes, but a lot lower in calories.
