Default The dreaded Egg Nog season!!! Discovery!

so.. I LOOOOVE egg nog and I vowed this year I would not buy it because it has 200cals per 1/2 cup, and lets face it, I could kill a half gallon in a day if I allowed myself.. so I just decided I would pass it up to get these last 25lbs off. Well I discovered Silk makes a Soy Egg Nog and it is FABULOUS!!!! The only difference is its not as thick, so its just like the transistion between whole milk to skim milk. Only difference, it is 90cals per 1/2 cup. I bought some.. drank the most of it over a few days and made the fatal mistake of giving some to my little girl, and now she is hooked, she says " mommy, we need some more Soy Nog" lol. Just thought I would share! Happy Nogging

Yummy!! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Silk Soy Egg Nog. I tried it last year for the first time and it was great! I mix it with regular Soy milk to make it last longer. 1/3 reg. soy to 2/3 soy nog. It doesn't really change the flavor that much. I don't know if it cuts calories down or not, as I don't know how many cals. are in reg. silk soymilk. It might though.

I really have to try that because I get in trouble with egg nog every year myself. I usually try to plan for it. Then McD's has the egg nog milkshakes too. So I will definitely check this out.

I just saw another brand that is 120 calories for a whole cup. It's the vitasoy brand. It's with the non-refrigerated soy milk. I was a bit frightened by the sugar count on it, but the cals are much lower then standard egg nog. I haven't tried it yet though, so I can't vouch for the taste.
