Applebees ?

  • Does anyone know if Applebees still has a low calorie menu section? My DD and I will be shopping this evening and would like to eat there.
  • Yes lily it's called the WW menu but instead of cal's it say's point's which for WW it is
    1 point = 50-60 cal's i use 60 cals a point i think i've read on the board some use 50
    i hope this helps
  • First week here and on South beach, down 5 lbs 5 days, but need some ideas.my weakness is chips or something to dip in these wonderful dips besides celery
  • Thanks Goddess, that helps a lot. I'll go with the 60 cal's a point. I'm glad you told me because I wouldn't have known how to equate the points. I'm hoping we can find something there good to eat. I don't use any fast food places and play it safe and eat at home usually.

TIS NEW, sorry I'm not familiar with the South Beach way of life. The ladies in the South Beach forum would probably be able to help you out.
  • The menus also list cals, fat and fiber in small print on the bottom - at least the "Carside to Go" menu that I have here at home does.
  • print menu
Hi, you can also go the applebee's website and look at the menu in advance to see what is on the WW section. I have eaten there a couple of times and everything has been really good that comes out of the lighter areas.

    Have fun!
  • If you go to the Applebees website and click on "Weight Watchers", a window will launch that has their WW menu choices on it, and it lists points as well as calories on it.

I ate at Applebees and I had the Italian Chicken and Portobello Sandwich, and it was VERY good. It comes with a marinara sauce for dipping your sandwich, and some fruit. My fruit was strawberries, pineapple, and some banana.

I believe it had 350 calories or so and over 10 grams of fiber. It kept me full for a long time!

They also have a shrimp kabob type salad that my mom had. It's only 200 calories or so, but it came with sugar snap peas, and I dislike them severely.
  • I eat Applebee's a lot when I'm on business travel, there's one by the hotel I stay at on a lot of trips. I also sometimes get it at Carside to Go during the week. My favorites are the Confetti Chicken and the Shrimp and Steak Skewers.

The Chicken and Portobello sandwich sounds new. Though they used to have a grilled chicken sandwich, they probably replaced it with this slight variation. I might give it a try sometime.
  • I personally avoid Applebees. I can't stand their food but I do eat out about twice a week. I try to stick to modify my foods wherever I go. Ask for no butter on my veggies, look for grilled meats, ask for dressing on the side. I also watch my portions and plan to eat only half of my meal whatever it is.
  • Their WW menu is GOOD. It also lists the calories right on their website.
  • I've had their Confetti Chicken too and I liked it.
