Wow. I googled chia seeds and read quite a bit about them. They definitely sound like a good alternative to ztrim. I may have to round some up and experiment a bit.

I'm suprised this is still so unknown.

They will stop selling this in December so stock up if you love it.

Stop selling what? Ztrim?

Why?

You know it doesn't make a lot of sense for us to buy it, it's a pain to mix up and remember to use it, but I would think that many companies could really expand their diet lines with ztrim.

Maybe they have with the generic equivalent?

Are you sure? The company just announced a deal with walden farms products to include ztrim in all of their products. Or are they just planning to not sell it retail, and focus on commercial/wholesale accounts? I JUST got my first order and am starting to experiment with it. I hate to think my supply will get cut off before it starts!!

Hey, I want some of this stuff. Where can I find it?

MBN 11-21-2008 09:15 AM

I bought mine directly from the company: http://www.ztrim.com/

I bought a jar of this and never used it. Somehow, it looked and tasted like vasoline. I experimented with it a bit, but for me, this was a "what was I thinking?" purchase.

I know lots of folks swear by it, so give it a try, but don't expect a miracle! IMHO.

I found the chia seeds in a health food store. They're quite cheap, but I haven't tried making or using the gel.

Chia sprouts (and several other types of seeds), unlike most other sprouts cannot be sprouted in water (because they make the gel-like goo). But, they're nutritious and sprouters, sprout them on damp felt or cloth instead.

While the chia pets never were marketed to use the chia for food, it is a nutritious green (but who knows if the chia pets were made from a food-safe clay, probably not which is why they weren't marketed for anything but entertainment purposes.)

As I said, I haven't tried to sprout them on fabric or felt, or for making the fat replacement gel - but when I do, I'll post my results.

Yes, I see you are right!! Bummer. They are running a special according to their web site. I ordered a couple more bags, they are only selling the powder now and not the premixed gel.
