Last night I added on: Fight Fire With Fire from Fat Free Yoga
findingmyway13 Welcome to the check-in! There are a couple of us here who love Turbo Jam!
Not such a good morning, over here. I woke early with severe cramping from TTOM. This is the worst it has been since I can remember. I had to get up in order to take my thyroid meds on an empty stomach, just so I can get around to taking some Advil. The Advil hasn't kicked in unfortunately. I have always heard that things get worse before they get better in that department. I sure hope it improves soon. I can tell things have changed from years ago. It has always been bad, but this is just over the top. I hope this whole thing will end soon. UGH! On a positive note, at least I don't have to work today.
Last night I added on: Seated forward bends, spinal twists, and relaxation from The Gift of Yoga.
Diana: Sorry to hear that you were not well and am happy you are better!

I was feeling a little low energy today. It was suppose to be a weights day but weights always take more energy than cardio does for me. In fact, I usually have more energy after a cardio workout. My body asked for cardio, so cardio it was.
Back from the Dr. about my thyroid labs. It appears that I am just in the normal range. She is keeping my Synthroid (250 mcg) the same for now. She explained all of my labs and compared them to the last time. The bottom line is that my body is having problems with the whole conversion process. After everything was said and done, I was totally confused. She said that with what I have going on it didn't matter how much Synthroid I took, my body wasn't converting it properly. I know there are other meds that can be added but she wants to hold off for now since I am just in the normal range. Which is better than I was. She said adding the extra meds (I think it's Cytomel) things can get really tricky.
Last month I made a change in the vegetables that I eat. I haven't openly mentioned it here about this change because I wanted to see how my labs were. I told the Dr. about this change and she said for me to continue with this change. She said she is not sure if this change is what has helped me or not, but things have improved. I went back to my food logs from 2012 to see if there was anything different than what I am doing now and there was. During my weight loss and year at maintenance I was not eating any cruciferous vegetables. I would eat some steamed broccoli, etc here and there but not a lot and not on a regular basis. I ate mostly green beans, zucchini, yellow squash, etc. When my Mom got sick, I was having a hard time finding fresh zucchini and yellow squash. I found it easier to buy frozen broccoli, cauliflower, etc. So basically I started eating lots of cruciferous vegetables every day from the time my Mom got sick until last month. Last month I switched back to the veggies that I used to eat. Besides the cruciferous vegetables, I eliminated all goitrogenic foods. Again, not sure if this change has made the difference. But I will continue with this routine for now since things have improved. Also, last month, I hit the lowest weight that I had been since early May or so. My weight is back up now, which started with the AYCE crablegs, then my bad eating day last week, and now TTOM. But my weight DID drop which is a good sign. That is something that hasn't happened in a long time. So, I just need to keep working, it seems like things will eventually come together.
Also, I brought up about my stomach pain when I have a bad angioedema flare up. I told the Dr. that I have used my muscle relaxer that I have for my TMJ with success. She suggested a muscle relaxer specifically for the stomach and called that in for me. I was so glad that she is familiar with this issue. For a long time I thought I was crazy and had something weird.
So, all and all my appointment went well (until my brain checked out and I got confused about all the thyroid mess). She wants to do labs again in December to see how things are and if we need to make any changes or additions.
Does helping DH work on a truck count as a workout? He couldn't get in an area and needed my help. I tried but my arms were too short. He did end up getting it fixed on his own, but trying to help him took up my workout time. Gotta do what you gotta do.
