Be proud and celebrate every accomplishment, when you lose weight or inches. Because you put a lot of effort and time to reach your goals.

Thanks. I'm just an overachiever who always thinks I coulda done better. But I'm learning to re-think, so that's a step in the right direction.
  • The month is nearly over, but I'm joining in. I had previous success with Jillian Michaels' DVDs, so I'm going back. Summer is on its way and my asthma is triggered by heat and humidity, something that comes in spades here in VA, so I have to move exercise indoors.

Level 1 Day 1 really kicked my ***. I could barely get through it (I did, but I had to pause the DVD and catch my breath and gather the will and energy to keep going). I ended up waiting a week to start again.

L1D2 yesterday went much better. No DVD pausing and only needed a few seconds to catch my breath. I'm taking a break today because my muscles are screaming, but I'm going right back to it tomorrow. I'm going to start supplementing 30DS with another JM DVD, probably Yoga Meltdown.

Once I get through 30DS, I'm going to move onto Banish Fat, Boost Metabolism. My endurance will have increased substantially by then to take on an hour-long workout.
  • Welcome Rashomon! Sounds like you're totally rockin' the Shred! No worries about joining late. I'll be doing this well into June because I'm mixing in rest days and cardio instead of doing 30DS every day.

And today I ventured into the land of Level 2. Um, yeah....love it! It's like a hundred times better than Level 1! Woot!
  • L1D3: Not as smooth as D2 was, mostly because my muscles were still sore and fatigued. However, it seems to go by quicker. My arms and legs currently feel like spaghetti.

As long as you don't pour on some marinara sauce and start snacking, all is well.
  • Rashomon

Welcome! It sounds like you are doing great. I added in extra push ups and my arms have been complaining every since.

Level 2 is my favorite level. I found level 1 to be too hard, and level 3 was too easy, but level 2 is perfect for me. I get a great work out. I sometimes add in extra arm exercises, or some stretching to help me lose and tone.
  • No 30DS today. My left arm hurts whenever I move it, so I might have a minor muscle injury. I'll probably do it tomorrow, though.

Oh no. I hope it's nothing serious.
  • Still having shoulder pain, so it'll be a few more days before I can get back into 30DS. I went for a walk/jog today instead.
  • Rashomon

I hope that your shoulder is feeling better.

How are you doing with level 2?

I had to modify some of the moves lately, to give my knees a rest.
  • Count me in also!!

NOVUS, when I started this DVD well over a year ago (my first and very successful round of losing weight) I absolutely hated jumping jacks. Guess what? I learned to absolutely love them! I think you will, too

It's kind of like Jillian's Body Revolution. I hated doing Suicides with a passion, but then I got so into them after my cardiovascular system got into better shape.

I started 30 Day Shred this past Sunday. I do have to take several 2 minute breaks throughout the DVD. But that will diminish once I get more weight off and I'm in better cardio shape.
  • I want to join u
  • Welcome Jersey and Kysa!

How's everyone doing with the Shred?

I'm a total slacker with Level 2. I've been doing it but, honestly, it's a pretty half-hearted effort. I dunno what my issue is. I think part of it is that I want to do more cardio, specifically running. Summer makes me want to RUN so I think I'm going to modify my weekly plan so there's less Shred and more running. And I think I'm going to redo Level 2.
  • Hi Novus!

I'm still on Level 1 and probably will be for at least another month or two. Unfortunately I find myself stopping the DVD frequently. Instead of a 20 minute workout, it's now a 35 minute workout. There are times where I do really push myself through certain parts of the video. I have to be careful because I have inflammatory colitis, which is pretty painful (although I think I have IBS - gotta go to a specialist to find out). And when I do cardio for some reason, I get some pain in the intestines. Not horrible pain, but it's incomfortable.
