Tells you how long it's been - my video list
Eons ago, way back at the beginning of the internet I belonged to a group of fitness video buffs - before it was really the WWW. Then it moved and I found it again. It was really great (and I would love to find that group again) as it was a bunch of gals who did mostly videos at home - most were amazingly fit and they would say what new videos were great and there was even opportunities to buy and swap (or maybe just swap?) Anyway, I got a bunch of great recommendations and videos. This was like in 1999 and 2000. Through them, I acquired almost all of these videos. They are all video cassette except for a few I'll flag (like 4 Richard Simmons and 1 Tai Chi). And ashamedly, some are still new in their packaging! Though, I've done most of these numerous times when I dropped the 50 pounds eons agon. I don't even know if these aerobic instructors still teach or do videos! I'm looking forward to getting back to these too!
I thought you all might get a kick out of my oldies collection! I'm going to get my husband to put them on DVD for me. Does anyone still do these videos?

I have some of those! Cathe Friedrich, Claudia Schiffer, Kathy Smith, TaeBo, Tamilee Webb. I still do them occasionally, I moved on more to beachbody's workouts and recently kettlebells though.
Most of them on your list are still around and making videos, Jane Fonda even put out 2 new ones recently!

I was looking a lot of these people/instructors today. Cathe Friedrich is a franchise and is HOT, but she's much to hard for me as a beginner.
Richard Simmons, if you can stand his personality, is really great for motivation and great for beginners or those looking for some easier workouts. I had moved beyond him eons ago, but after you've been sick, or on vacation, he's a nice pace to get up and going again.
Kathy Smith has been doing this since 1980 and she's STILL going strong! That's 40 years people! And she still looks fantastic!
Karen Voigt was such a perfectionist and is beautiful to watch and her stretching book and videos, well everything is just so professional. She's dry, but very good.
For some reason, I like Gilad. Found Donna Richardson pretty decent.
I never got into the kickboxing. Just not my style.
I'm really excited to dust these off adn start again. For the last two months I've been doing "Walk it Out" with Wii, but I'm ready to delve into something a bit meatier and fun. I wonder if I'll laugh at the outfits and hair though! Times have changed!

Oh, and I found the old fitness group I used to belong too. First I rejoined here, and now I'm rejoining there. Kind of sad it's been over a decade, but at least I'm starting again, right?

From before the VHS tapes
I have Jane Fonda on VINYL...feel the burn...
I still have a turntable but I don't think her approach is now recommended.

I remember my mom having a vinyl album for a Jane Fonda workout. How in the heck do you take cues simply from hearing a voice on a record? I think I remember trying to do it when I was an early teen - impossible!
We have a vcr, but we are transfering things to DVD. Tapes can easily break and then I'll be out of luck!

The jazzercise abs routine looked pretty fun. I really like how that website lets you preview the video before buying (and they take PayPal so I don't have to charge it).

They came with an illustrated instruction booklet! Try doing a workout from a vinyl record...you're doing jumping jacks and the needle SKIPS the whole time! it was HORRIBLY frustrating.
Very great that you're getting those transfered to dvd!
I have a few early Gilad...Step and Tone I still do at least once every two weeks. That poor VHS tape is gonna break some day!
