Default bar method vs. lotte berk?

Hi everyone-

I'm looking for something to build lean muscle, and I've heard good things about both the Bar Method and the Lotte Berk Method. They both seem pretty similar... I've read Amazon.com reviews for both, and it seems as though the LB may be a little boring, but that the BM might be lacking a bit. I was wondering if anyone has used these videos-
how was your success?
which was boring?
was it something you were able to stick to?

Money is tight for me, and I haven't been able to locate either of them at the library to give them a test run- any thoughts?

Thanks in advance!

FYI - you can't build 'lean' muscle. You either build muscle or you don't. I personally don't know about these programs but I think it is just a different method of building muscle than say weightlifting. Doesn't mean your muscles would look any different other than you are limited on the amount of muscle you build if you don't go beyond a certain point.
