Good morning everyone. Sooo much trial and error going on right now. I did miles 2, 3, 4 and 5 from the 5-Day Slimdown. I was really looking to work my whole body and this pretty much would have been just the ticket IF I had used some hand weights for the arm work on mile 2. Oh well. I'm learning. LOL. I did like these workouts, though. I skipped mile 1 due to time constraints and everything else seemed to have the strength training.
I would love to hear which of her workouts are best for strength training. Help out a "sister in sweat"? LOL
2 mile, 30 min. High Energy Walk w/ weights this morning.
FootballMom-You might look at the new Boot Camp DVD at Wal Mart. It includes figure 8 bands (they come with the DVD) and there are bicep/tricep/squats/lats, etc. work during the second and third miles of the session. I've only done 2 of the WATP DVDs, so I'm no expert.

Leslie has several workout that are good for strength training. Of course the Weight Loss Bootcamp was mentioned but also try her Walk Strong series, there are 2 DVDs, one uses weights, one uses the stretchie band but both are more focused on strength training intervals. Walk & Firm also uses the stretchie band for strength training. Leslie Sansone also has older videos that are strictly weight training, Leslie Sansone Shortcuts focus on strength training for arms, legs, and abs (3 separate series).
Hope that helps, as you can see, Im a Leslie fanatic!
Thanks everyone. I appreciate all the recommendations. I used to strenth train a lot, but stopped due to a back problem. I have pretty much lost a lot of muscle and I need to get that back so that I can get rid of some of this body fat. The back issue really did a number on me and now I have to fix it.
This morning, I did Walk Your Belly Flat. I really like this one. I'm going to try to do some strength tomorrow.
BTW Perduegirl98, have you done her newest system available from QVC? It really looks interesting. Would love to hear your thoughts.
No I havent purchased the Walk Eat Lose Program as of yet. The reviews on that program are mixed on the walkathome website, so Ill wait it out and once it starts to sell elsewhere (for cheaper) Ill buy it!
I just did the 3 mile Slim & Sleek Walk! I just love this one!!!
fchsfootballmom - I have the walk eat lose set from qvc and I like it ... but I don't seem to get around to doing that one often. I don't know why that is bec I do like it!
Yesterday I took a rest day. I had so much to do. Today, I did Punch Up Your Walk, 4 miles, with the lower body toneup at the end. I liked this one too, although there really wasn't much punching going on. The gloves did add some intensity and I had a really good sweat.
Thanks for the info Cathy. I have to have variety or I get bored, so I bought a lot of stuff. I just got this one in over the weekend, but I haven't done it yet. I like that there are so many different boosters. That keeps me very interested and not so bored. Keeps my ADD in check. LOL
