  • I am LOVING Slim in Six!

Now granted, i've only done it two days...but I did the Start it up yesterday. Woke up and wasn't that sore, so I did it again this morning instead of waiting until the afternoon.

I just love how simple the moves are, so I'm not spending half the time trying to figure out what it is exactly they are doing with their bodies.

I'm not finding Start it up to terribly difficult - I sweat, lunges burn, but the only thing I find myself hitting almost failure over is the push ups. This mornign I did nine in the time she did ten, although I was pretty spent.

Maybe one more day on Start it up and then on to the next one.

    Slim in Six + dailyplate.com = weight loss/healthiness GOLD.
  • I did the slim in 6 series about two years ago and LOVED it. I lost about 15 pounds and inches all over. I had them on VHS and misplaced them when I moved from California back to New Jersey. I just ordered the DVD version again this morning and will be starting on Thursday!

Slim in 6 is great, nice basic but effective moves. Good luck on your journey!!
  • I've just downloaded slin in 6... Cant wait to begin. .. Had a quick question, how long are we supposed to do a particular video and then skip to the next
  • I'm ordering this tomorrow and i'm so excited! Have been doing Chalean Extreme for almost three months, and I think if i try to do another round immediately i may break my television out of annoyance with her. Do you find the Slim in 6 lady annoying? Just checking... Also, would love to hear about your results!
  • Hee - I guess some have found her annoying, but I think if you have to see anyone's chipper face while you are dying of cardiac arrest every morning, there is bound to be some resentment.

The guidebook says to do each level for two weeks as a guide. You can progress quicker if the workout becomes to easy. I'm only going to do Start it Up one more day (5 days total) because while it makes my heartrate go up and I sweat my muscles aren't really burning and I'm not close to getting to muscle failure.

I don't have any results yet (specific to Slimin 6) as I just started Monday. Will post when I weigh in.

Hope you all enjoy it as much as I am!
  • I just started today! I really liked the dvd. The only thing that is annoying to me is her breathing. But I can get used to that
  • Debbie is annoying (as would anyone be if you're doing the same workout vid every day). I combat this by putting my earbuds in after doing the workouts a couple of times.
Slim in 6 is effective, but it can get very boring doing the same workout everyday. I was glad when I was finished and moved on to Slim Series--much more variety to the workouts.
  • When I was on the program previously I did the first video for one week, the second for two and the third on the last three. Debbie's whole thing is listening to your body, so when you feel like you should move up, move up.

She isn't so much annoying, but the videos are very boring (working out the same muscles to the same video everyday) and her counting (at least to me) always seems off. But if you can get past that you can get great results.

I just got my video in today after work, the picture quality isn't the best, but it's the same old moves I'd done before, I just need to find my balance. I'm hoping my results are going to be similar to mine last time. Good luck to everyone on the journey =]

    I agree 100%!!
  • Uber tired and drained this morning - was actually having to push to do the Start it Up, which heretofor hadn't been much of a challenge, except for the pushups.

    So, so tired.

However, in spite of that I did do a full 10 pushups (go figure), so I'm moving on to Ramp it up as planned.

Hoping today's tiredness was just a fluke. Two more pounds til i'm back in Onederland.

And then the fun really begins
  • Borg - Do you like the videos and find them challenging? I was looking at ordering these after I finish the Chalean Extreme series in two weeks...
  • Got up early and did Start it Up and then 6 Pack Abs...man is that 11 minutes of pure ab ****! But it's all worth it!
  • Hi Traveller!

The Start it Up is a 30 minute low impact workout - I'm sore the next day, but it hasn't taken me anywhere close to muscle failure, and it isn't like I'm near exhaustion (except for this morning). But I don't think it is meant to be really hard, rather it is to prepare you for the next two levels.

I'm going to be starting Ramp it Up soon, so I'll let you know.

I like that the moves are easy and it is very straightforward.

Although I will say that I got this program to gear myself up for things like Chelean Extreme and p90x, because from what I could gather they are harder. But what do I know

The Billy's Bootcamp (I did this once at my mothers) was much more intense than slim in six, and the resistance band was harder (which is probably why poor Billy was sitting at mom's collecting dust) and I wasn't in good enough shape to do that everyday.

Sorry for the ramble - that was a lot of words to say I'm not sure!
  • Ramp it Up = significant difficulty jump from Start it Up.

Difficult enought where I am beginning to hate Debbie, and I told her as much, including what she could go do to herself and her resemblance to certain anatomical parts.

I also questioned her morality and her mother's sexual exploits.

    Good workout though.

Waiting to really see any results, and my calorie counts have been good.

Soooo hoping I'm going to see a whoosh one day soon...
  • How I love to hate you Debbie.

5 pounds down since I met you last Monday.

    My butt thanks you!
