Do people sweat during the Shoulder and Arms / Ab Ripper X videos? I find I don't really, but I FEEL it the day afterwards.

I don't really sweat during those either, but i do feel it, especially the ab ripper x! I have a question for you all though. I'm having trouble fitting in my workouts. Here's my dilemma: I can get up at 0300-0315 to workout, but then I have trouble finishing because I'm so tired. If I wait until night time (I work 6a-6p), I either don't get to see the kids, or have to workout so late that I can't sleep afterward. Anyone else struggling with a bit too much on their plate? How do you handle it?

Why don't you split it up into 2 half an hour sessions?

When I find I don't have the time or energy to do those 60-75 min sessions, I just do Jillian Michaels' 30 DS. 27 min, boom boom done.

P90X scares me. LOL. After reading these posts, I'm thinking I need to do something more basic before starting this.

Maybe I'll just do the core synergistics and stretching dvds? Any suggestions?

i've been doing p90x for about a month now, and it is hard, but not impossible. tony does encourage you to stop if you need to, modify if you need to, so as opposed to some other videos i've done, i find that it's pretty motivating and i enjoy the challenge of it.

i do think that if your general fitness level isn't at a place where you could do 30 min+ of cardio it might not be a good series to start with, but then again, i was surprised i could do as many of the moves that they have because i'm flabby and lazy, lol.

Yesterday was my Plyo day, and halfway through the double heismans something stuck in my shoe decided to puncture my big toe. So after bleeding for a while I realized it was too late to finish the workout and had to go to bed.

So what did I do today? Decided to do plyo, shoulders & arms, and ab ripper X alllll back to back so I wouldn't be off track. I don't recommend doing that. Yikes. I still managed to improve on all workouts compared to last week but man oh man do I ache. I don't even want to think of the pain that tomorrow will bring.

Good morning ladies, I have struggled on and off with buying P90X. I had 2 co-workers do it and loved it but none of them where overweight. They said they feel alot better.

I have a great cardio base, I walk 1/2 marathons and have walked 1 marathon and am currently training for a 1/2 marathon at the end of May. However, I am very much over weight.

Are any of you in about the 40 - 50 pds over weight dept? Can you get through these workouts? Do you think it will help lose weight?

Thank you all for any suggestions.

Kim

So I switched up Yoga with Pylometrics. And it's amazing. It really reduces my stress levels. I worked up a huge sweat. So I'm on week 2. Yesterday, I took a break, because I was in a bad mood.

Keep everyone updated! Cheers!

Hello, I have my copy of P90x now and am going to start on Monday. Is anyone following the nutrition plan? Also the recovery drinks, are they necessary too? I figured I'll buy some at Wal-Mart as opposed to the expensive one on the site. I also read people drink chocolate milk instead, wasn't sure if that was good or not. This program has me scared for some reason lol. I do all the Jillian Michaels ones without a care in the world, but this one is intimidating...

In my opinion, they're totally unnecessary. Just drink something with electrolytes and/or carbs.

I drink chocolate milk after a workout. The protein/carb ratio is almost exactly the same as the recovery drink from beachbody. It's not mandatory that you have something, but the idea is that you should have something that can give your muscles back the glycogen they've used up. Plus, I like chocolate milk, so it gives me an excuse to drink it.

I skipped yoga yesterday. I just couldn't do it. Besides the fact that I hate it, it gives me a MASSIVE headache. I think I'm going to do cardio X instead and maybe try it again in phase 2.

I did Jillian Michael's new yoga DVD instead of the p90x yoga. It was on one of my 'on demand' stations, so only level 1 was available. It's definitely different than the p90x yoga, but I find it way more enjoyable. So I think for now I'm going to get that DVD and do both levels (making it about an hour) and wait to do yoga x until I get stronger/more flexible/can tolerate the boringness of yoga.

One week left before my first 'recovery' week. It'll be good to be able to switch things up a bit. Keep at it ladies!

Hi everyone!

I am finishing up with CLX and am moving on to P90X when I am done. I was excited to see how the workouts go, so as I was cleaning one day I popped in the chest and back workout. I have a question.

I can not do pullups. I can barely hang from a bar, my arms are my weakest body part. I saw that some people use a chair but I don't think I could even do that. I don't have a pullup bar and I don't have the bands that that one guy uses. How do I get to the point where I can do one pullup? Should I just get the pullup bar and try with a chair? Or should I get the bands and try that? My goal is to be able to do atleast one pullup some day so how would I go about doing that? Has anyone had this issue? and how did you get around that?
