The Great Featherweight One Week Challenge - September 18-24

OK, I'll throw out this week's challenge.

I will stick to my calorie budget EVERY DAY!
I will exercise 6x this week
I will go to bed by 11 pm
I will drink green tea every day

I started last week doing pretty well, but fell off on the weekend. I'm going to work on this. So far today I've exercised and kept my eating in line.

Red Hat 09-18-2006 07:09 PM

I do all but the "bed by 11" part, lol... Where in Texas are you? I'm in Brenham (but no Bluebell for me....)

srmb60 09-18-2006 10:24 PM

I have been slacking in every department lately so I need to accept a challenge.

I will walk 6 times this week for at least 20 minutes. I need to eat less ... maybe 1500 cals would do.

And so, for today ... I'm batting .500 ... I did walk but I'm over calories. Better tomorrow? Sure can.

Jazzbird 09-18-2006 11:16 PM

Red Hat - I live in Georgetown, up by Austin. I used to go through Brenham a lot when I lived in Houston & came up here to see my family. I love Bluebell ice cream! I can't eat it, though, or I won't stop.

sassafrass 09-19-2006 01:06 AM

Count me in....I will have to tweek the days a little...I'll make it the 19th-25th, because it's already 10pm here (I'm accepting a little late in the day).

-I will run 3 times (3-4 miles)
-I will go to kickboxing and "lift" classes (2)
-I will track all of my calories
-I will DRINK at least 64 oz. of H2O everyday

Now is that too much to ask of myself? HA...that's why it's called a "challenge," right?!

Good Luck to everyone....

3fcuser1058250 09-19-2006 06:26 PM

Count me IN as usual!!

Monday and Tuesday under my belt are good food wise, now 5 days to go... Can I make it to 7 full days on plan?? I sure hope so :tantrum:

elizabeth28 09-19-2006 09:44 PM

Hi, I just joined today-- I hope it's not too late to partake in your challenge...:)

My goals are as follows:

-strength training (3 sessions)
-cardio (180 minutes)
-1300 cal per day

Best of luck to everyone!

cheers,
elizabeth

Jazzbird 09-20-2006 12:21 AM

Welcome Elizabeth! Welcome sassafras! Let us know how you do on your goals. We'll cheer you on.

I've had a pretty good day food wise. Kept to the calorie budget and exercised in the morning. My weight hasn't changed more than 2 pounds up or down for a few weeks now. It's got to give sometime.

srmb60 09-20-2006 07:30 AM

Well, I've walked both mornings so far but I can't seem to get my food under control. No matter what I plan in the morning, in the evening I eat until I'm at about 1900 cals ... hmm ...

Den@ 09-20-2006 01:53 PM

My goals for the week:

1. Mentally count calories & stop eating when satisfied
2. Exercise every day -This morning I did the weight training circuit. This afternoon is my Tai Chi class.
3. Keep a positive, successful way of thinking. "I can do this!"

elizabeth28 09-20-2006 11:37 PM

Heya, everyone!!

Here's the gist of my accomplishments for today:

- 1 strength training session (ca. 60 min)
- 40 minutes of cardio
- 1,200 calories

Yay! (And NO it wasn't easy.)

Stay tough; stay focused. I'll check back in tomorrow.:)

srmb60 09-21-2006 08:42 AM

I haven't even entered my stuff from yesterday into fitday yet! Oi bad nibbling day. However I did walk, work and go see my ailing Mom (she's much better).
A full day and full of bad food choices :)

Den@ 09-21-2006 11:14 AM

Today so far:

Breakfast: egg beaters, 5 saltines; lunch: chicken, veggies, peach; dinner: homemade tacos.

I just finished a 1/2 hour aerobic video and went to the gym.

I'm back in control! :)

3fcuser1058250 09-21-2006 03:30 PM

Yesterday and today are good for me, although I did have 2 granola bars today, I'm still well within my calorie range...

I didn't exercise yesterday but today I am off to jog in a few minutes...

Jazzbird 09-21-2006 09:46 PM

I'm a little over my calories for the day...I hope the scale god won't be too angry in the morning. Did ab work and PT exercises for the leg. I love ab day!

elizabeth28 09-22-2006 12:25 AM

You're in good company, Becky-- I went over my calorie allotment today, as well. No worries, though; I had a lot more energy compared to yesterday, and maybe 1,300 cal a day is too harsh a reality for my body to accept... In any case, good luck with the "scale god". :)

Stats for today:

-60 minutes of cardio
-1550 calories (It was all good...)

Cheers to all!

elizabeth

Den@ 09-22-2006 11:28 AM

Today's going to be a great day!

1. It's Friday.
2. I'm in control.
3. I'm seeing my results for the day in advance. I will exercise (Tai Chi class & gym) and I will eat right.

Ok, time to take action and go to the gym.
Have a great weekend, everyone!

3fcuser1058250 09-22-2006 01:42 PM

Had a good workout this morning, did back and chest and some shoulders... It's a lot in one session for me but it's only the second time I make it to the gym this week... I hate when life gets in the way and I can't make it to the gym

Tomorrow I have plans to jog in the AM, get my mom to dye my hair, do house work, yadda, yadda, boooring stuff... I will try my darndest to stay focused this weekend, we have no plans so it should be easier... but then I eat because of boredom, there's no happy medium is there:faint:?

Jazzbird 09-22-2006 08:03 PM

Did yoga and rode the stationary bike this morning. My eating has been pretty healthy and just barely inside the calorie limit. Tomorrow is my "official" weekly weigh-in day. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. This is the beginning of the weekend, however. I'm not going to blow it this time! I WILL keep to my goals!

elizabeth28 09-22-2006 11:13 PM

Heya... I've only got one minute to spare this evening, so here goes:

-60 minutes of cardio
-1675 calories (...)

I'll report again on Sunday. By the way, I'll be going out to dinner tomorrow, so please, please wish me luck and self-control. (Or, whatever-- I'll live.:p )

Looks like everyone's doing swell. :)

cheers,
elizabeth

srmb60 09-23-2006 06:14 AM

I can't seem to get to fitday this week so I don't know my calorie counts but I have managed to get extra walking in each day and the scale is behaving very evenly.
Now if I could just wedge a little weight lifting inbetween things ...

Den@ 09-23-2006 02:00 PM

Here's to a great weekend!

1. I'm in control.
2. I'm going out for a walk now and burn some calories
3. I'm going to have a great weekend. (It's too hard to start over again, and I want that scale to move downward.)
4. I had a great week. Yay!!

Good luck, Featherweights. We can do this together!
Dena

srmb60 09-24-2006 07:48 AM

Today is the 24th, right? So I did half and half with the challenge. I have walked each day but my food has not been good.
The scale is stuck but that's better than going up, right?

Ok then ... if I can stay this active and watch my food ... the scale will go down, right? On to the next challenge!

Jazzbird 09-24-2006 11:49 AM

I'm stuck, too, Susan, but it's a beautiful fall day and I don't care. I think I'll take a cue from you and Dena and do some walking today. I'm going to my niece's birthday party, so I'll have to be careful.

Elizabeth - hope you maintained on your dinner out. If not, I hope it was worth it.

elizabeth28 09-25-2006 01:00 AM

Heh... no, I didn't maintain; yes, it was worth it. No regrets.

Stats for this week:

- cardio: 160 minutes (goal was 180)
- strength training: 1 session (goal was 3...)
- # of calories consumed per day: ca. 1500- with the exception of yesterday (goal was 1300)

cheers!:)

elizabeth

Den@ 09-25-2006 02:33 PM

1. Eating under control
2. Exercise: worked out to an aerobic video for 1/2 hour, then went to the gym for an hour.
3. Goal: To have a great day
