Woohoo!!!

Though I've always been relatively tiny, I'm feeling quite smug and happy at the thought of being considered a 'featherweight.' :smug: I just joined the group yesterday and only just now found the featherweights, so I'd love to hear any thoughts and ideas about how to lose that last ten or fifteen when ten or fifteen is all you have to lose.

Welcome to the group! It is a bit comforting to think of yourself as a featherweight instead of a lot of other things. As far as what I do to lose weight, I have to say it's about the same as when I had more to lose. (My top was 165) I look for the least objectionable way to reduce my food intake and the most pleasant way to exercise. I use a software program to keep count of my calories and exercise 6 days a week. I'm new to this site, too, but it's been a great help for motivation. Maybe the others can give you some different ideas.

Everyone here does seem really motivational. Though I haven't really tried to intentionally use weight since high school, this site is really getting my psyched to give it a go. Of course I'm only a day into my new, um, lifestyle choice and it will be really hard for me to shoft any weight, I'm trying to think of it as a fun challenge rather than an attempt to deprive myself of chocolate, cheese and cocktails.

jazzbird- what computer program do you use to do all of that? i would love to have something like that to keep me on track!

Jazzbird 09-13-2006 10:48 PM

Love_Cam, I use a program called DietPower. I like it because it calculates your metabolism dynamically based on your daily weight, what you eat, and your activities. There are a gazillion diet programs out there, though. Just Google 'diet software' or something like that and you'll find more than you can explore. A lot of people on the 3FC website use FitDay.com. I don't know much about it, but I think it's free.

Yeah, Fit Day's free and enlightening. Looking at the food intake bit today made me pretty darn proud of myself, but as soon as I'm done with the 21-Day Challenge or go to a fancy restaurant I'm sure I won't be as smug.

:wel3fc: fitaitch  ..... IF I knew the magic answer to losing those last 15# I'd have lost them 2 years ago  ... I think it's the consistency and persistance in my lifestyle that I am lacking that's for sure. I do well exercise wise, I work out daily and love it, so that's not the problem... My weekends are the biggest problem for me, not that I binge, but I just eat off kilter and I am back to square one on Monday, it sucks, I know, but hey I keep trying...

I use fitday and have been for years now, I like it a lot and it's FREE!!

thanks so much! i'm definately going to do some reasearch into those! i'm really excited about it!

Hi everyone! And thanks for the warm welcome. I'm quite proud of the first few days of my new life. I've been using fit day religiously, have been easing myself back into yoga and have been walking up stairs as much as my little legs will allow. I hope I can just manage to get through the weekend without breaking my '21 Day Challenge' rule of no desserts. Fingers crossed.
