Jazzbird 09-10-2006 10:19 PM

Hi Ilene! What kind of challenge is this? Any rules or guidelines? I see you've got your goals out there--good for you!

alinnell 09-10-2006 10:44 PM

I've been 7 days without wine...!? The scale is showing a change, but my ticker still says 143. That's because I went up to 145 right at the beginning of September and I didn't want to acknowledge it!! I am back to 143 and ready to lose those 4 more pounds this month. I had a good Saturday, but today has been kind of rough--crackers and potato chips (what was I thinking?). I did finally get in my 4+ mile walk/hike with DH! It felt great, although I'm sure I'll really feel it tomorrow LOL.

This week
I will eat clean, whole foods (nothing processed)
I will not drink wine
I will drink water
I will get out for my walk at least once (I wish I could get it done daily--I really miss it)

3fcuser1058250 09-10-2006 10:48 PM

Jazz, no big rules except to help one another stay on track and come here and be accountable for our actions whether they are good or bad...

Allison -- :high: Good for you for not having any wine!! I had some on Friday night and 2 beers today... I'm back on the straight and narrow tomorrow...

To add to my goals this week:

- No wine till I reach 145

Jazzbird 09-10-2006 11:19 PM

OK, here goes.

This week
I will stick to my DietPower calorie budget
I will exercise Monday-Saturday
I will go to bed by 11pm

Allison & Ilene, I admire you gals for giving up the wine. I may try that next week--one step at a time.

InATizzy 09-11-2006 12:16 AM

This week
I will stay OP.
I will exercise 4 times.

2frustrated 09-11-2006 08:30 AM

This week I will reduce calories

This week I WILL cycle the 28 mile commute at least once

This week I will pass my Blue Belt test

This week I will eat clean food

This week I will take a rest from weights (experimenting)

This week I will lose weight ;)

I'm not that good!!! I had a beer with lunch both Saturday and Sunday! :o

So far today, I am off to a good start--berries, berries and more berries for breakfast, yogurt and a salad packed for snack and lunch today, and a BIG salad planned for dinner tonight. I can see a pound coming off.....:carrot:

3fcuser1058250 09-11-2006 10:12 PM

Today food was good (of course it's always good :hun: ) but you know what I mean

I had:
m1-oatmeal and eggwhites
m2-cc and mango
m3-.25c peanuts and a peach
m4- filet of sole, .50c pasta and sauce

I worked legs at the gym :strong: 50 mins... I went at night too! Which I never do, but I worked today and I absolutely, positively HAD to get my workout in...

Jazzbird 09-11-2006 11:03 PM

In the bag--almost

So far, so good. Did yoga and rode the stationary bike in the morning. I'm below calorie budget for the day, so I'm having a glass of wine before bed. Good luck to all.

2frustrated 09-12-2006 04:30 AM

Yesterday was a slight rest day exercise-wise, just teaching kickboxing, but we had a GREAT class and I showed off A LOT!

Food was spot-on. Even under 1400kcals. At this rate the scales should be making me happy - but they're not. Neither is the tape measure. I'm going to pick up my dress on Saturday and it's not going to be pretty

Den@ 09-12-2006 10:23 AM

I'd love to join this challenge. You guys are so inspiring.

My goals for the week:
1. Count calories - portion control
2. Exercise daily
3. Lose another pound

Since I started reading these boards last Friday, I went from 152 to 147.2!

Good luck to everyone this week!
Dena

3fcuser1058250 09-12-2006 12:02 PM

Hey Dena!! :high: on the weight loss already... This site is the best I have been a member since 2001 and come here regularly for my 3fc fix :spin: ... I never realised before I met all these wonderful people that weightloss was difficult for everyone, I thought I was alone, imagine my surprise when I met all these like minded folks ...

Today so far, so good... Went to the gym and did shoulders tonight I run with my gal pals, 5k...

Food so far is :

1- oatmeal and eggwhites
2- chocolate pp and wild rice... weird combo I know but hey it's a protein and a carb
3- .5 cup beans, 5oz tuna, olive oil and lemon, cherry tomatoes, onion, salad

reo60511 09-12-2006 03:40 PM

Oh let's see what should my goals be.

1. Watch what I eat

2. Go for walk, bike ride or exercise each day

3. Work on plan to set goals and rewards, I think this would be a good motivater(Plus I get stuff lol). I lost 5 pounds and went and bought myself a new pair of good running shoes. Now I guess I should use them but It's been raining the last two days. Does anyone else do this?

Well good luck everyone!

The rest of my day:

5 tortilla rounds with a baba ganoush/hummus spread...5 tortillas is way toooo much and now I can't eat for the rest of the evening...

I made this spread this afternoon, I had a couple of eggplants that I wanted to get rid of...

Jazzbird 09-12-2006 11:53 PM

Ouch

I overdid weights this morning and had a backache all afternoon. I took some acetaminophen, but I feel like a little old lady right now. I'm getting the cold pack out right after I finish writing this. I think I've done OK on the day's food, but I stopped logging after lunch. Oooooooh, I won't do that again.

2frustrated 09-13-2006 04:33 AM

A little high calorie-wise yesterday. However I was taking Thermobol  which appears to boost the metabolism so much it made me hungry! I don't think that was the point! And I did do extreme kickboxing last night - plenty of intense kicks and stuff. So all in all not too bad!

InATizzy 09-13-2006 08:57 AM

I hope you feel better Jazzbird.

I did 10k on my elliptical trainer last night and wanted to do it again tonight but it`s already 10pm-so I might take the night off.

3fcuser1058250 09-13-2006 09:19 AM

Ciba -- If I exercise too close to bedtime I cannot sleep and the next day I don't feel like exercising at all, so it's better to get a good night's sleep, since you already exercised anyways... just my 2 cents :D...

Yesterday I did good... DH and I ended up going for a 15k bike ride last night so I had plenty of excercise yesterday and food was spot on too :carrot:

Jazz -- take care of that back

In a little while I'm off to the gym then laundry yuck!! Food should be good I have lots in the fridge...

Later

Den@ 09-13-2006 04:16 PM

Tuesday's goals met: 1,000 calories, upper body workout, practiced Tai Chi and went for a walk with hubby last nite.

Today: Eating going well and taking a Tai Chi class.

Good luck, all!
Dena

Jazzbird 09-13-2006 04:44 PM

Fimmin'

Thanks Chiba and Ilene for the sympathy. To address my sore back, I decided to hunt out the local swimming pool and swim for exercise today. I haven't done that since, oh, about the early cretaceous. It follows that I'm a really rotten swimmer, but I have to say it was a lot of fun. I did a lot of backstroke and when my arms gave out, I just held onto the side and kicked. My back feels a whole lot better. I just may get myself one of those kickboards and do this every week.

Food has been OK so far. I had Mexican for lunch, but I tried not to overdo it. Dinner will be a salad.

Cheers!

3fcuser1058250 09-13-2006 10:23 PM

Food, when I was home was good, but I went and had coffee with a gf who is a chocoholic and she pass the chocolate and I didn't say no... on the up side my calories are still good today... Did chest and 20 mins cardio, I was really lazy today...

2frustrated 09-14-2006 04:01 AM

Ick ick ick! Yesterday's bike ride left me feeling "entitled" to eat a Mars Bar, Pizza and a (veggie) sausage sandwich  oh yeah and I forgot the chocolate biscuits! :frypan:

Today I'm going to do better. I can't do much worse. :frypan:

InATizzy 09-14-2006 04:27 AM

I didn`t wind up exercising last night. I usually exercise before bed-it doesn`t bother my sleep pattern-sometimes it`s the only time of the day that I have time.
I`m home alone now-so I`m heading for the elliptical trainer...

3fcuser1058250 09-14-2006 09:17 AM

2f -- :coach: WE KNOW YOU CAN DO IT!!!

I'm getting dressed as soon as I finish posting this and heading off to the gym before my laziness takes hold of me... The plan for the gym today is back and a run... It's pouring here so I may not go for my run tonight, but I do hope it stops raining...

2frustrated 09-14-2006 11:11 AM

Thanks - I KNOW I can do it too! Can someone please inform my bathroom scales that I can do it too???

Today I'm doing ok - I have LOTS of veggie bits in the fridge for a quick stir-fry when I get home. I just have to defrost the chicken and I'm all set! Not been too bad - been craving carbs LOTS, but (I finally figured this out!) I now know that once I give in to a "treat" then I want MORE treats! I could've quite easily burried my face in a box of chocolates this afternoon, when yesterday I was thinking that I could take it or leave it! Someday I'll be sorted!

3fcuser1058250 09-14-2006 11:42 AM

Back workout and HIIT cardio -- DONE!!
It's a nice light warm rain so I will go running this afternoon...

Den@ 09-14-2006 01:42 PM

Wednesday's goals met: Eating in control plus one hour of Tai Chi practice and one hour Tai Chi class.

Today so far: Eating in control and now off to the gym

One more day until Friday. I can't believe it. I've been good for a whole week. I got out of sync there for a while, but I'm back. Yay. :carrot: I really think this weekly challenge has helped tremendously. :)

Jazzbird 09-14-2006 04:01 PM

Did yoga, abs, and leg PT this morning. Divided a cafeteria take out meal with a friend at lunch, so we each got 1/2. We like doing it this way because it keeps portions in control.

You gals are awesome! 2f- you didn't do anything I haven't done a million times with the entitlement thing. Sounds like you recovered nicely.
Chiba, Ilene, Dena good for you on the exercise. I feel like I'm losing weight just reading it.

3fcuser1058250 09-14-2006 07:09 PM

I had a great run with my running buddies tonight, I came, this close to not going because I was so lazy and had gas  I hate running with a group with gas... But I went anyways and it was awesome, there was a mist all the time we ran and it was nice and coolish and not warm at all... This girl I was running with didn't feel like running either when we started and we ended up being the first 2 in :carrot:

2frustrated 09-15-2006 04:31 AM

At least you can blame your gas on someone else if you're running in a group ;)
